Head of Business - (Logistics LCL/FCL) - Chinese Passport Holder (ONLY)
We are seeking native Chinese leader who is a based in Malaysia to drive the growth and development of a new Freight Forwarding and Shipping Project. The chosen candidate will lead the Malaysia operations, sales, and growth development, whiles working closely with the Group HQ of our client. Candidates who do not speak Chinese will automatically be rejected for this job.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Business to lead our operations in Malaysia, responsible for driving business growth across LCL and FCL solutions. This role is critical for driving market expansion and enhancing our service offerings in the region, playing a vital role in leveraging the JV business to support freight forwarding operations globally.
Location: Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, Port Klang, or Johor Bahru
Key Responsibilities
- Office Set up: Experienced in office development, hiring, training and development of local staff to international standards.
- Market Expansion: Drive international market expansion to enhance the company's global presence and market penetration.
- Service Offering: Rapidly expand the LCL / FCL business across Malaysia
- Supplier Development: Identify, screen, and develop high-quality local suppliers and overseas agents. Negotiate competitive rates and services to improve service offerings.
- Business Strategy: Formulate business strategies and plans for the company; assemble and lead a team to explore and expand business, ensuring targets are met.
- Contract Negotiations: Engage in negotiations for route contracts, maintaining and expanding route resources to maximize profits.
- Issue Resolution: Handle and resolve issues arising during the transportation of goods, ensuring high customer satisfaction.
- Market Analysis: Gather information from the local market, including customer feedback, market trends, and competitor insights. Provide actionable suggestions for product improvements based on analysis.
- Reporting: Report business progress to the Board of Directors, ensuring effective communication and implementation of board policies and documents.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of commercial experience in international freight forwarding; willingness to undertake a long-term assignment (candidates with established client networks in Southeast Asia preferred).
- Languages: Must speak Chinese and English at native or business level
- Technical Skills: Advanced operational skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for professional documentation and data processing.
- Market Skills: Proven ability in market expansion and client acquisition, including autonomous execution of regional market research and business negotiations within assigned territories.
- Collaboration Skills: Demonstrated cross-departmental collaboration skills to effectively coordinate resources across operations, customs clearance, and customer service teams.
- Personal Attributes: High accountability and stress tolerance to thrive in dynamic international work environments. Strong teamwork ethos with strict adherence to corporate business ethics and compliance standards.
- Passport: Must be a Chinese Passport Holder as there will be regular travel in to China Mainland for strategy meetings. Dual Passport Citizenship (China/Malaysia) also are accepted
