Key Responsibilities
Sales Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, coach, and manage a high-performing team of Account Managers focused on the mid-market segment.
- Set clear sales targets, expectations, and performance metrics for the team.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and identify development opportunities for team members.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy specifically for the mid-market segment, aligned with overall company objectives.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the target mid-market accounts.
- Oversee the sales cycle for key deals, providing guidance and support to the team as needed.
- Collaborate with Marketing to develop targeted campaigns and messaging for the mid-market.
- Work closely with key customers within the mid-market segment to understand their needs, challenges, and business objectives.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
- Act as a liaison between customers and internal teams (e.g., Product, Support) to resolve issues and improve the customer experience.
- Monitor and analyse sales performance against targets, pipeline health, and other key metrics for the mid-market segment.
- Develop accurate sales forecasts and provide regular reporting and insights to senior leadership.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed to achieve or exceed sales targets.
- Collaborate with other sales teams (e.g., Enterprise, SMB) to ensure alignment and maximise opportunities.
- Work closely with Marketing to develop targeted campaigns and content for the mid-market.
- Partner with Product Management and Customer Success to ensure offerings meet mid-market needs and to drive customer adoption and retention.
- Stay up-to-date with market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs within the mid-market segment.
- Provide feedback and insights to Product Management, Marketing, and other teams to inform product development and go-to-market strategies.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 8-10 years of experience in sales or sales leadership, preferably within the mid-market segment or a similar B2B context.
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- Experience managing and developing a team of sales professionals.
- Strong understanding of the mid-market segment, its challenges, and opportunities.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent sales and negotiation skills, with the ability to close deals and manage complex sales cycles.
- Strategic thinking and planning abilities, with a focus on driving growth in the mid-market.
- Deep understanding of customer needs and the ability to build strong, lasting relationships.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to drive decision-making.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging with customers and internal stakeholders at all levels.
- Results-oriented, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
