Head of Regional Application Engineering

Job Description
Danfoss is seeking a highly collaborative Head of Regional Application Engineering with strong leadership and coaching skills, strategic and deep understanding of customer needs to lead our team of application engineers in the Asia Pacific Region.

This role involves leading technical initiatives, delivering top-tier application support, and working closely with cross-functional teams to optimize project coverage, product performance and enhance customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate possesses extensive Climate Solutions application technologies, exceptional leadership abilities, and a demonstrated track record of managing teams in dynamic and fast-paced environments.

Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:

• Develop and execute the regional application engineering strategy in alignment with business goals.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of application engineers specializing in climate and refrigeration technologies.
• Define best practices and ensure the standardization of application engineering processes across product portfolios.
• Provide guidance on the application, design, and integration of application solutions.
• Support sales and business development teams with technical insights, feasibility assessments, and customer consultations.
• Ensure optimal product selection and customization to meet customer needs and local/regional regulatory requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance energy efficiency, reliability, and sustainability.
• Conduct customer training, workshops, and technical presentations to enhance knowledge and adoption of climate solutions applications.
• Serve as the key technical liaison between regional customers and global product development teams.
• Support project pipeline development by managing application engineering resources across the region based on skills and availability
• Lead the Singapore Danfoss Sustainability and Technology Center development by ensuring technology displayed is presenting the best value proposition for Climate Solutions and supporting internal and external events.

The Ideal Candidate Possesses These Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Professional certifications in HVAC/HVACR, Energy Management, or Climate Solutions (e.g., LEED, ASHRAE, EPA 608, PMP) are a plus.
• 10+ years’ technical or sales management experience working with OEMs, system integrators, service partners, distribution channels and end users.
• 5+ years in a leadership role
• Proven track record of managing and developing an aftersales service or technical engineering team in the Contractor, End-user and OEM environment.
• Knowledge in HVAC&R applications, heat exchanges, and other controls and systems.
• Strong business acumen and strategy deployment.
