The Hotel Building Engineer is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of all building systems and equipment. This includes HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general facilities upkeep to ensure a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for guests and staff.

Reports To: Chief Engineer / Engineering Manager
The Hotel Building Engineer is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of all building systems and equipment. This includes HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general facilities upkeep to ensure a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for guests and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on hotel systems and equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues
- Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests
- Maintain records of maintenance activities and equipment servicing
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and hotel standards
- Assist in energy conservation initiatives and sustainability efforts
- Support renovation or upgrade projects as needed
- Coordinate with external contractors and vendors when necessary
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of engineering workspaces and storage areas
- Participate in emergency response procedures, including fire safety and evacuation drills
- Diploma or certification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)
- Minimum 12 years of experience in hotel or commercial building maintenance preferred
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, and general repairs
- Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
- Physically fit and able to work in shifts, including weekends and public holidays
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
