Job Description

Responsible for Industrial Engineering (IE) functions and leading IE related projects in PJ plant in the most effective and efficient manner to achieve overall productivity and quality goals in terms of Man, Machine, Method and Material. Ensure the efficient usage of production equipment and manning over the complete process chain within the plant.

Work standard:

• Establish work standard in the plant.
• To evaluate and implement standardization methods to increase operational efficiency and simplify maintenance.
• To organize motion and time studies to increase operator efficiency as well as reducing set up times.
  
  

Work & factory layout:

• To evaluate and review layouts for all sections in line with productivity and quality improvements.
• To review current storage and material handlings activities to incorporate better planning methods to reduce scrap, residues, etc. due to coverage, excess handling, processing times and general safety.
• To coordinate, propose, get approval and maintain record keeping for all related layout and drawings for the plant.
  
  

Work organization structure & evaluation:

• Evaluate and propose for the establishment of proper work organization as appropriate for the plant.
• To organize operational analysis and improve the systems and methods through streamlining and removal of non-value-added (NVA) activities.
• To maintain job category for variable headcounts.
  
  

Manpower management:

• To plan and propose the overall plant headcounts for variables.
• To organize Manning requirements studies and to take necessary action to re-engineer manning utilization.
• To conduct review and evaluation of Human Factors and Motivation to improve working conditions and create a happier and healthier workforce.
  
  

Performance management:

• Monitor and prepare scheduled reports on productivity and efficiency throughout the plant.
• Carry out the evaluation on productivity and efficiency performances of the plant.
• Lead on improvement activities on the productivity and efficiency.
• Active participation in Continental Business Team (CBT) review.
  
  

Management of IE Department functions & tasks:

• Organize and lead IE department related tasks and functions.
• Promote, train and lead productivity and efficiency-related items are implemented accordingly in the plant.
• Oversee and ensure productivity and efficiency related items are implemented accordingly in the plant.
• Responsible to carry out any special project or task assigned by immediate superior
  
  

Safety & Health:

• Support the Company's safety and health policy and comply with all its procedures.
  
  

Qualifications

• Relevant Tertiary education with recognized degree in industrial/ Manufacturing engineering.
• Experience in a high volume manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Proven track record of results.
• Managerial experience in a production environment is preferred.
• Knowledge in quality management systems.
• 3 years involvement in project management equivalent.
• 5 years experience in managing a small to medium group.
• Working experience with international team will be an advantage.
