Role Overview

The IT Executive will provide first-level support for the Asset Digitization (AD) system, contribute to system enhancements and integrations, and lead smart technology deployments involving IoT, sensors, and AI solutions.


The role works closely with internal stakeholders, technology partners, and operational teams to ensure digital initiatives support strategic IT and business objectives.


Key Responsibilities

System Helpdesk & Application Support

  • Provide first-level support for the Asset Digitization (AD) system.
  • Support system enhancements, new reporting requests, functionality improvements, and integration with the AD ecosystem and related applications.
  • Assist in troubleshooting system issues and coordinating resolution with internal teams and vendors.

Project & Strategic Support

  • Lead, manage, and deliver smart device deployment projects involving IoT, sensors, and AI technologies.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and aligned with strategic IT and business objectives.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to digital and smart technology adoption

Internal Audit, Cybersecurity & Compliance.

  • Validate system and operational processes to support audit requirements.
  • Address audit findings and support compliance with cybersecurity standards, ISMS, and other relevant frameworks.

Data Management & Analytics

  • Contribute to data structure design, data integration, and analytics initiatives.
  • Support projects involving PLC, SCADA, IoT, and other industrial or operational systems.
  • Assist in managing and analyzing operational data to support performance, reliability, and decision-making.

Collaboration & Innovation

  • Work closely with technology partners and key PTP business units.
  • Support proof-of-concept (POC) initiatives to test and deploy innovative solutions.
  • Drive productivity and efficiency improvements through technology-enabled solutions.

Additional Duties

  • Perform ad-hoc tasks and assignments as directed by Management.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or related), Information Technology, or equivalent qualification.


Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience.
  • Prior experience within the port industry, logistics, infrastructure, or industrial environments is highly preferred.


Skills & Competencies

  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia (spoken and written).
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage high workloads, and maintain professionalism.
  • Interest and working knowledge in:
  • IoT, AI, Robotics.
  • Data modelling, system coding, and data management (e.g. data lakes).
  • Solid understanding of:
  • PLC data.
  • SCADA systems.
  • Engineering systems related to port and industrial equipment.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and keen to learn new technologies.
