Intern - Collection (APAC Finance Global Business Services)

Role Description & Responsibilities

Your specific responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

• Manage all collection activities for an assigned portfolio of customers & VAR (Value Added Reseller) accounts.
• Review customer related account receivable balances and identifying possible issues for non-payment to reduce overdue percentage. Work closely with internal stakeholders and external customer organizations to resolve any collection and dispute issues.
• Perform regular reconciliation of customer’s accounts, and timely clearance of Unapplied Cash & Credit Memos, in compliance with Credit Management & Collection policies and procedures
• Partner with Credit Management Team on daily order releases and provide necessary information to the Credit Manager. Prepare quarterly bad debt provision to be utilized in discussion with team manager & Geo Credit Manager.
• Prepare monthly reports and forecasts file. This includes analysis & commentaries on delinquent customers. Ensure monthly Cash collections and aged debt targets are adhered to.
• Carry out month-end closing process and assist BAPS team in closing activities. Furthermore, support with Control & Compliance policy implementation & Audit requirements.
  
  

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in English. Native/Professional Fluency in Mandarin is also required (due to focus on CHN market).
• Ability to communicate in other languages (i.e. Japanese, Korean, Thai or others) is an added advantage.
• Currently pursuing a degree, or other professional certifications in Accounting or Finance related fields.
• Working knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Excel is critical.
• Highly self-motivated with a keen & curious mind. Strong attention to detail and accuracy with good communication skills.
