Intern, Ocean Freight Commercial Centre

This job is an internship for Logistics students. You would learn from our senior experts and work in Ocean Freight Department. You might like this job because it offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various areas of the department and learn from experienced professionals.

Your daily job scope consists of different area within the department of Ocean Freight.

• Point of contact for Country Global Bid Team teams with regards to providing rates and Ocean Freight expertise in bid responses.
• Escalation to Procurement/DANMAR LINES as and when required especially on Risk taking initiatives for larger bids for both FCL and LCL.
• As the local arm of the Regional Procurement team, to ensure capacity procurement and management at Country level is aligned to Corporate Carrier Strategy in terms of carrier choice and shifting.
• To interface and work with Country Carrier contacts to resolve operational issues.
• Escalation to Procurement as and when necessary.
• Provide feedback and input on Carrier performance to Procurement on a regular basis.
• Provide statistical reports to Country Ocean Freight Management / Procurement.

To be successful in this internship, these are the requirements:

• Diploma and/or Degree in Logistics, Maritime, Transportation, and/or Business Studies with minor in logistics and supply chain.
• It will be added advantage if individual have part-time experience dealing with customers.
• Being able to read, write and speak professionally in English.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
• This internship working location is at USJ, Selangor
