Key Account Manager

On behalf of our client, a global player in the metals industry, we are recruiting a Key Account Manager to act as the principal link (local sales initiatives) between customers and the Company for all the business divisions and product lines.

Location: Kuala Lumpur or any city in Malaysia

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Grow long-lasting relationships with customers by identifying customer’s most important needs and the channels for the new projects development
• Represent the Company with a comprehensive understanding of its offerings
• Know customer budget, organization and hierarchy, selecting the most important contact for the activities that the Company wants to promote
• S/he is informed about short, medium and long term customer plans, keeping in touch with Project Sales Teams
• Gathers information on manufacturing output, performances and products of the Company and competitors’ plants
• Investigates on competitors performances and quality
• Promote the Company during customer meetings, promotions and negotiations
• Collect competitors‘ information/monitoring competitors’ activities

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor degree or above in Metallurgical, Mechanical Engineering or related major, or business administration
• Above 5 years related sales experience in steel industry or plant sales
• Good knowledge of metallurgical equipment, process lines, good at reading and interpreting mechanical drawings
• Highly proficient in spoken and written English and Malay; adequate skills in using MS Office
• Ability to travel at least 20% of the time
