Job Responsibilities

Legal

  • Provide legal advice and guidance on business operations, contracts, and compliance matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents, including agreements, NDAs, and contracts.
  • Coordinate with external legal counsel and relevant authorities when necessary.
  • Monitor legal risks and recommend appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with Malaysian laws, the Companies Act 2016, and regulatory requirements.

Company Secretarial

  • Serve as the Company Secretary per the Companies Act 2016 and Bursa Malaysia requirements.
  • Coordinate Board and Committee meetings, including agendas, board packs, and minutes.
  • Maintain statutory records and ensure timely submission of filings to regulatory bodies.
  • Provide advice on corporate governance matters to the Board and senior management.
  • Ensure all AGM/EGM and shareholder communications are accurately prepared and submitted.
  • Stay updated on changes in corporate governance and regulatory frameworks relevant to listed companies.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent qualification.
  • Licensed Company Secretary registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM).
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in legal and corporate secretarial roles, preferably in a Bursa Malaysia-listed company.
  • Prior experience as a Junior Accountant in a law firm or handling legal documentation will be an added advantage.
  • Strong understanding of Malaysian legal frameworks, Bursa Malaysia listing requirements, and regulatory reporting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism in handling confidential matters.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
