PlayStation Studios’ International Production & Localization (IPL) team plays a vital role in delivering high-quality gaming experiences to players across Asia. Based in Tokyo and Malaysia, the team works closely with development studios, QA, Marketing, and PR to ensure that each title is thoughtfully localized to meet the cultural and linguistic expectations of regional players. By combining global quality standards with deep local insight, IPL helps PlayStation titles resonate with diverse audiences throughout the region.

Localization Specialist (Traditional Chinese)

We are now looking for a Localization Specialist (Traditional Chinese) to join our Asia-based localization team. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality localization that resonates with players in Traditional Chinese-speaking regions. This role is ideal for a language specialist who is passionate about games, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to global releases that meet cultural expectations and linguistic precision.

Responsibilities

• Set the localization direction in collaboration with the producer.
• Support localization management and collaborate with overseas development teams.
• Translate and adapt game scripts and in-game text into Traditional Chinese.
• Support voice-over recording conducted overseas in collaboration with external partners.
• Manage and improve the final quality of Traditional Chinese localization in collaboration with the Quality Assurance team.

Requirements

• At least 2 years’ experience in game localization, translation, or related language services within the PC, console, or mobile gaming industry, with demonstrated ownership of end-to-end localization tasks or projects.
• Native-level fluency in Traditional Chinese.
• High proficiency in English (TOEIC 850+ / TOEFL 500+ or equivalent).
• Excellent English communication and negotiation skills.
• High creative writing ability in Traditional Chinese.
• A commitment to continuously improving localization quality.
• Skills in schedule and asset management.
• Experience in translation or voice-over script writing in the entertainment industry.
• Familiarity with AAA game titles and regular gaming experience.
• A proactive approach to team collaboration.
• Interest and experience with the latest localization technologies, including CAT tools like MemoQ and bug tracking systems such as JIRA.
• Strong competence in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
