About the role:

We are seeking a passionate and solutions-oriented Manager to lead our Custom Applications team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and can effectively lead an organization by making sound technical decisions, understanding business needs, and leading people. This technical leader will manage, hire, and develop great people, determine strategic and tactical priorities, and provide architectural vision.

The Manager, Custom Applications must flourish in a fast-paced environment and will inspire the development team to create innovative solutions, design, development, and delivery of high-quality software products, while fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment.

Your contribution will be: 

  • Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to implementation, testing, and deployment
  • Lead and manage a team of software engineers and test engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and career development opportunities
  • Partner and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, R&D, and Infrastructure teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Drive technical excellence and best practices within the team, including code reviews, automation, functional and integration testing, and continuous integration
  • Actively identify and address technical challenges, ensuring the team delivers scalable and maintainable solutions
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and customer focus within the engineering team
  • Partner with program management team to plan roadmap, sprint planning, navigate through competing priorities, and provide work estimation
  • Grow testing automation capabilities with the team
  • Maintain consistent awareness technical trends, competitive technologies, and emerging technologies, and incorporate them into the team's development processes

To be successful, we think you need: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 8+ years of proven experience in software engineering, with a track record of successfully leading and managing engineering teams
  • Must have proven experience with Azure cloud,.NET platform: C#, ASP.NET, MVC, WCF
  • Proven experience with MS SQL database design and development
  • Proven experience leading SDETs
  • Strong understanding of web technologies, Javascript, HTML, CSS; PHP/Drupal experience a plus
  • Experience with software development methodologies, such as Agile or Scrum.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound technical decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines and containerization
  • Familiarity with front-end and back-end development frameworks and technologies
  • Experience with data-driven decision-making and analytics
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders
