This position is responsible for managing and overseeing the end-to-end Group financial reporting process, ensuring timely and accurate submissions from Local Business Units (LBUs) in compliance with Group reporting requirements. This position includes reviewing and validating financial submissions, preparing regional journal adjustments, conducting data reconciliations across systems, and supporting the consolidation process for investment funds. It also involves maintaining and improving reporting templates, ensuring SOX compliance, advising on system data mapping, and supporting internal and external audit requests. Additionally, the position drives continuous process improvements, provides training and guidance to LBUs, and supports various finance projects and initiatives.

  • Effectively communicate Group reporting timelines and requirements to Eastspring LBUs including JVs. Develop and disseminate clear and comprehensive communication materials, including detailed timelines, reporting templates and guidance documents. Conduct training sessions or workshops to educate LBUs on Group requirements, changes in accounting standards, and best practices. Serve as the primary point of contact and provide timely and accurate responses. Evaluate requests from LBUs on timeline extension and liaise with Prudential Group Finance for approval.
  • Diligently manage the Group reporting submission process. Establish and maintain a system for tracking LBU submissions and ensuring timely delivery. Proactively follow up with LBUs to address any potential/actual delays or issues in the submission process. Monitor the progress of submissions and identify potential bottlenecks or risk. Ensure that all submissions are received in the correct format.
  • Perform thorough reviews of the monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and yearly Group reporting submissions (via Cognos, OneStream and offline submissions) and ensure strict adherence to Group reporting standards and requirements. Validate data submitted to ensure adherence to Group reporting templates and requirements. Ensure commentary provided by LBUs sufficiently explain the variances. Identify and address any non-compliance, issues and recommend corrective actions. Work closely with LBU Finance teams, Group Finance teams and various stakeholders to resolve reporting issues and improve quality of submissions.
  • Prepare and post journal entries for regional adjustments related to monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and yearly financial reporting. Ensure all adjustments are properly supported by documentation. Analyze and resolve any discrepancies related to regional adjustments.
  • Conduct thorough reconciliations of data across various systems (e.g. HERA, Cognos and OneStream) to ensure consistency and accuracy. Identify, investigate, and resolve any discrepancies or variances between systems. Develop and implement process to prevent data inconsistencies and improve data integrity.
  • Manage the end-to-end consolidation process of OEIC (Investment Funds) within OneStream, including intercompany eliminations, currency translations, and consolidation adjustments, while ensuring proper application of relevant accounting standards.
  • Perform detailed reviews of LBUs draft audited financial statements to ensure alignment of local statutory reporting with the numbers submitted for Group reporting (performing reconciliation if necessary), assess compliance and reasonableness from local statutory reporting perspective, verify consistency between financial statements and disclosure notes, and evaluate the clarity and accuracy of accounting policies and disclosure notes to the accounts.
  • Respond promptly and accurately to ad hoc requests for information from internal and external stakeholders. Prepare and provide financial data for Request for Proposals, business cases and initiatives. Provide clarifications and supporting documentation for submitted financial data as requested by Group Finance.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of SOX documentation, including process flowcharts, control matrices and narratives. Ensure all documentation is accurate and up to date. Respond promptly and accurately to audit requests. Ensure all audit requests are tracked and properly addressed. Coordinate with various departments to gather necessary information. Suggest and implement improvements to SOX audit process.
  • Design, develop and maintain Cognos templates for financial reporting and analysis, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to Cognos templates. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of reporting. Ensure consistency and standardization of Cognos reporting across LBUs.
  • Advise LBU Finance and Finance L1 Business Support team on data mappings between source systems (Oracle, Cognos and OneStream), ensuring accurate data transfer and transformation. Troubleshoot and resolve any data issues
  • Assist in the review and verification of account access and creation requests for Finance systems e.g., Cognos and Onestream.
  • Review of LBUs Finance manual to ensure accuracy, consistency with Group policies, compliance with relevant regulations and alignment with best practices, ultimately driving improvements in LBU processes.
  • Coordinate the ongoing maintenance and updates of the Regional Finance Operating Manual, ensuring accuracy, clarity and alignment with evolving business needs and Group requirements.
  • Update simple mapping for Alteryx workflow. For more complex changes, liaise with Alteryx vendor and perform User Acceptance Testing before deploying the changes to production.
  • Compile external audit fees from LBUs, challenge the fee and submit to Group Finance for GAC approval. Thereafter, communicate approved fees to LBUs.
  • Contribute to other ad-hoc projects and tasks as needed.


Requirements

  • Bachelor or Degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Internationally recognized accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, CA, ICAEW, etc.) or working towards designation will be an added advantage.
  • At least 8 years of working experience.
  • Prior experience in Group/Regional reporting, especially in the Fund Management industry would be preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet tight deadlines.
  • Willing to work on ad hoc requests when necessary.
  • Meticulous, hands-on, independent and resourceful in solution delivery.
  • Team player, energetic, positive and consistent, even under pressure.
  • Driven and self-motivated individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


Other Business Knowledge/skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Good knowledge of IFRS, accounting standards, and financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of Cognos, Oracle, OneStream and/or Alteryx will be an added advantage.
