This role is responsible to manage any of the key projects, initiatives and engagement activities to drive digital innovation and align with MDEC’s objectives. The candidate will also act as MDEC’s ambassador in, building and nurturing partnerships with state government, agencies, and key stakeholders including Malaysia Digital companies and industry players in the East Malaysia Region. The role requires a good understanding of the regional public and private sector landscape to navigate the opportunities and challenges.

- Support the Senior Manager in the advisory efforts in building regional and specific state strategies to determine clear direction with outcomes for the unit.
- Oversee the planning and execution of key projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with MDEC’s strategic objectives and digital transformation goals and strategic priorities.
- Analyze industry trends, emerging technologies, and local challenges to identify high-impact opportunities for digital transformation across key sectors.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and updates on project milestones, challenges, and strategic recommendations to support informed decision-making.
- Monitor and assess the outcomes of MDEC’s initiatives, providing actionable insights and recommendations for ongoing improvement and stakeholder coordination.
- Develop and strengthen partnerships with key stakeholders, including governments agencies and industry leaders, to address regional digitalization needs.
- Map and assess relationship quality with all stakeholders in the private and public sectors in the region and state.
- Foster collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring their interests are integrated into strategic planning and execution.
- Serve as the primary liaisan for government agencies, industry representative and international partners ensuring cohesive communication and alignment.
- Coordinate daily operations of key projects, ensuring timely delivery, regulatory compliance, and alignment with organizational priorities.
- Oversee the execution of project plans, including tracking deliverables, budget, managing timelines, and resolving issues as they arise.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination with all stakeholders, particularly in project execution and feedback loops.
- Data management and escalation to the relevant MDEC data team for dashboard enhancement for region and states.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in partnership development, business management, project management or related roles with proven track record.
- Proven ability to manage strategic projects and drive growth.
- Deep understanding of Malaysia’s digital landscape and key industry players.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all level
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Proactive, self-motivated and results-drive, with a passion for driving digital innovation and fostering collaboration.
- Leadership - ability to represent MDEC in the region and build strong partnerships.
