YOUR ROLE AS A MANAGER, TAX

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager in Tax Compliance to join the AirAsia Aviation Management Services tax team. Supporting the Senior Tax Manager in managing tax compliance for both direct and indirect taxes for the AirAsia Aviation Group, covering Malaysian and international entities, ensuring adherence to local and international tax regulations.

WHAT YOU’LL CHAMPION:

  • Assisting in the preparation and filing of tax estimation for the companies.

  • Supporting the Senior Tax Manager in monitoring the remittance of payment to the relevant tax authorities is made on a timely manner, including income tax instalments, service tax payments and withholding tax payments.

  • Supporting the Senior Tax Manager in monitoring and follow-up actions with the relevant tax authority to expedite any tax refund applications.

  • Supporting the Senior Tax Manager in monitoring and follow-up actions with tax authorities, government agencies, tax consultants, and other external parties on all tax matters for the Group’s entities.

  • Assist in compilation information for review by the Senior Tax Manager required for tax audits for all entities, responding to inquiries from tax authorities and coordinating with tax advisers.

  • Assist in ad-hoc tax projects.

  • Assist finance and business units on tax related queries.

  • Assist in compilation of information for review by the Senior Tax Manager required for the preparation of Transfer Pricing (TP") documentation.

  • Stay updated on tax developments and share relevant updates with stakeholders.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or a professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, ICAEW) or equivalent.

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in tax compliance

  • Proven experience working in a large accounting firm or within a commercial in-house tax department.

  • A proactive attitude, agility, and strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with senior management, internal departments, and external stakeholders.
