Where You Fit In
You will take on the role of Health Focal for the Rosmari & Marjoram Onshore Gas Plant, working closely with HSSE, HR, site leadership, and external stakeholders to proactively manage health risks, ensure full regulatory compliance, and uphold Shell Health standards across all operational activities.
What you’ll be doing
As the Occupational Health Focal at Rosmari & Marjoram (R&M), you will be responsible for delivering Shell Health’s strategy through science-based occupational health services tailored to the needs of the site.
You will work independently through Shell Health protocols and processes—such as Fitness-to-Work (FTW) and Medical Surveillance (MS)—to deliver agreed KPIs, adapting them to local or individual needs where necessary.
You will ensure all personnel meet Fitness-to-Work requirements and support welfare inspections and audits.
Promote and implement Shell Health activities and programmes to enhance the physical, mental, and social wellbeing of the workforce, while assisting and supporting the organisation of campaigns to raise health awareness within the business unit
This includes structured mental health and resilience training and health promotion initiatives such as sleep hygiene, nutrition, physical activity, and social connectedness.
Protect the workforce by coordinating medical surveillance for chemical exposures such as benzene, mercury, and H₂S, conducting ergonomic assessments, and implementing hearing conservation and heat stress management programmes.
You’ll also support the Fatigue Risk Management Plan (FRMP), ensure food and drinking water safety, and maintain compliance with DOSH regulations and Shell Health standards.
You will advise key internal stakeholders, including employees and line managers, on occupational health topics and may serve as the local focal point for specific areas such as ergonomics, travel health, and psychosocial wellbeing.
Participate and contribute positively in HSSE Assurance Audits/Walkabout by R&M Leadership Team, including Canteen/food and drinking water safety inspections, Site’s Drug and Alcohol Program and testing, Site’s Worker Welfare Program.
You’ll ensure strong Medical Emergency Response (MER) readiness, provide expert support for emergency equipment like AEDs and first aid kits, and help coordinate training and drills for Designated First Aiders (DFAs)
You will maintain and manage all records related to occupational health nursing issues and escalate frontline concerns to asset specialists for resolution if required.

What We Need From You
Professional Skills
Registered Nurse or Medical Assistant (Malaysian Nursing/Medical Assistant Board).
Certified in Occupational Health Nursing (NIOSH Malaysia or equivalent).
Valid Assistant Medical Review Officer (AMRO) certification.
Minimum 5 years clinical experience; OH or oil & gas experience preferred.
Core Competencies
Strong OH knowledge; IH experience desirable.
Excellent communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Skilled in stakeholder engagement, training, and data analysis.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and health reporting tools.
Leadership Skills
Demonstrate a learner mindset, fostering inclusivity and psychological safety to identify improvement opportunities and innovation and efficient ways of working.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate (business partnering) and integrate across boundaries to maximize value for Shell as a whole.
