Your Mission
The Payroll Project Technical Lead works closely with the Global Payroll Project Manager, Payroll Project Coordinator and PMO Officer focus on technical implementation aspect of the project. This role technical bridge between vendors, internal country payroll teams, business units, and the external payroll and HR service provider at both country and central level.
The Payroll Project Technical Lead is responsible for reviewing and documenting technical setup gaps during implementation, managing technical review (blueprint) setup with vendor, and supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and parallel run validations between Guthrie and the payroll vendor. In cases of escalation, the Payroll Project Technical Lead will promptly inform the Global Payroll Project Manager to ensure timely resolution and project continuity. Technical aspect is defined as integration, SAP S4/HANA, Workday, vendor system.
Your Role
Discovery Phase:
- Involved in the local kick-off calls with country teams and vendors.
- Serve as Project team SME for technical aspects of data collection clarification sessions.
- Ensure alignment on technical project scope with the overall country project implementation timeline.
- Review foundational setup with vendors and internal team from Workday and SAP for each country (or business units if required) (e.g., integration setup, etc).
- Work with country payroll teams on payroll and HR requirements documentation that is required by vendor.
- Review technical templates and documentation.
System Configuration and Integration Phase:
- Assist in mapping fields validating transformation rules.
- Track and escalate issues related to error from integration and work closely with Workday, SAP S4/HANA both internal and consultants along with Payroll Vendor and working closely with the project coordinator.
- Worked with local HR, Workday and SAP S4/HANA team to coordinate unit testing, system integration testing (SIT), and User acceptance test (UAT).
- Draft list of scenario and case testing and to ensure testing closure with gaps review for integration and system setup.
- Ensure timely resolution of issue raised during testing phase.
- Track signed off payroll and HR configuration.
Parallel Run Phase:
- Involved during the execution of the parallel runs such as when the payroll integration data is being sent across and work closely with Workday Integration, SAP S4/HANA, External vendor and internal IT team.
- Review the technical payroll output result with the vendor, local HR, internal team such as Workday and SAP S4/HANA in the output result.
- Review sample payslips, reports provided by vendor.
- Coordinate penny test file validation.
- Involve in the by providing input from technical aspect during the signed off of each parallel run and prepare for Go/No-Go Decision.
Go-Live Month and Stabilisation period:
- Support final payroll data submission to vendor.
- Worked with the to local HR in using vendor’s tools.
- Continually technical support during this phase.
- Ensure that all documentation that is required is provided to the PMO Officer.
Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor’s degree/ master’s degree in any related field.
- Strong technical knowledge (5 years’ experience) in integration for Workday such as PECI or PICOF), SAP S4/HANA and 3rd party payroll vendor.
- Demonstrated experience in 2 cycles of Workday and/or SAP S4/HANA Implementation with payroll vendor such platform.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into system configurations.
- Proficiency in data management and reporting, especially reading payroll reports.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
