We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to lead initiatives for Advanced Digital Manufacturing around Advanced Process Control (APC), Single Device Traceability (SDT), and Advanced Maintenance within our DMR (Digital Manufacturing and Reliability) Organization. The successful candidate will drive innovation and process optimization, leveraging extensive technical expertise to ensure best-in-class manufacturing performance, device quality, and operational efficiency. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including process engineers, equipment engineers, data scientists and IT experts, to design, deploy and sustain cutting-edge solutions that enhance production capabilities.

Job Description
In your new role you will:
- Advanced Process Control (APC):
- Lead the development, implementation, and optimization of advanced process control systems to enhance process stability, reduce variability, and improve yield.
- Collaborate with data scientists and process engineers to identify key process parameters and integrate model-based or AI-based control mechanisms.
- Develop and validate real-time monitoring and feedback systems to ensure high-performance process reliability.
- Single Device Traceability (SDT):
- Develop strategies to integrate process and equipment data into traceability systems to support product quality and compliance requirements.
- Work with IT and manufacturing teams to ensure the seamless integration of SDT solutions into the existing MES (Manufacturing Execution System).
- Work with a global team of SDT backbone experts to ensure gest data quality.
- Advanced Maintenance:
- Drive the adoption of predictive and prescriptive maintenance solutions using AI/ML algorithms to minimize unplanned downtime and optimize equipment effectiveness.
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies that leverage real-time equipment performance data to enhance reliability and throughput.
- Establish maintenance KPIs and ensure continuous improvement cycles for all key equipment and systems.
- Innovation and Leadership:
- Act as a technical leader for APC, SDT, and maintenance-related projects, guiding teams to deliver scalable, robust, and efficient solutions.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, ensuring alignment with best practices and future-proofing the organization’s manufacturing capabilities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work across departments, including R&D, IT, Quality, and Production, to ensure a holistic approach to process optimization and maintenance.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors and technology providers to identify and integrate state-of-the-art tools and solutions.
You are best equipped for this task if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in Advanced Process Control, maintenance optimization, or traceability systems in the semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing, deploying and optimizing APC frameworks and methods (e.g., model-predictive control, statistical process control) and in Fault Detection Algorithms (rule-based, model-based, machine learning)
- Hands-on experience with traceability systems for large-scale production environments.
- Proven track record of implementing predictive, prescriptive maintenance or advanced process control solutions using AI/ML or data analytics.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes, tools, and equipment.
- Proficiency in data analytics tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB) for statistical modeling and AI/ML applications.
- Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and IoT frameworks including automation integration across MES, equipment controllers and sensors.
- Excellent communication abilities to bring over a complex message over different hierarchy levels.
- Analytical mindset with a demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems and experience on applying DMAIC methods.
- Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt certification.
- Certification or experience in AI/ML or data science.
