We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Engineer to lead strategic initiatives for Advanced Digital Manufacturing around Advanced Process Control (APC), Advanced Maintenance, and Simulation using digital twin technology within our DMR (Digital Manufacturing and Reliability) Organization. The successful candidate will drive innovation, process optimization, and technology roadmap development, leveraging technical expertise to ensure best-in-class manufacturing performance, device quality, and operational efficiency. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including process engineers, equipment engineers, data scientists, and IT experts, to design, deploy, and sustain cutting-edge solutions that enhance production capabilities.

Job Description

In your new role you will:

  • Advanced Process Control (APC):
    • Lead the development, implementation, and optimization of advanced process control systems to enhance process stability, reduce variability, and improve yield.
    • Collaborate with data scientists and process engineers to identify key process parameters and integrate model-based or AI-based control mechanisms.
    • Develop and validate real-time monitoring and feedback systems to ensure high-performance process reliability.
  • Advanced Maintenance:
    • Drive the adoption of predictive and prescriptive maintenance solutions using AI/ML algorithms to minimize unplanned downtime and optimize equipment effectiveness
    • Develop and implement maintenance strategies that leverage real-time equipment performance data to enhance reliability and throughput, and establish a culture of proactive maintenance within the organization.
    • Establish maintenance KPIs and ensure continuous improvement cycles for all key equipment and systems.
  • Equipment and Material Flow Simulation using Digital Twin:
    • Develop and implement digital twin models to simulate equipment behavior and material flow, reducing bottlenecks and improving overall production efficiency, with a focus on scalability and flexibility.
    • Collaborate with process engineers and equipment engineers to identify areas for equipment and process improvement and implement changes to optimize material flow and reduce waste, and develop strategies for continuous improvement
    • Work with data scientists to analyze simulation results and identify opportunities for further optimization using digital twin technology, and establish metrics for measuring success.
  • Innovation and Leadership:
    • Act as a technical leader for APC, Advanced Maintenance, and simulation-related projects, guiding teams to deliver scalable, robust, and efficient solutions, and developing and implementing technology roadmaps to ensure alignment with industry trends and emerging technologies.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, ensuring alignment with best practices and future-proofing the organization's manufacturing capabilities, and establish partnerships with external vendors and technology providers to identify and integrate state-of-the-art tools and solutions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work across departments, including R&D, IT, Quality, and Production, to ensure a holistic approach to process optimization and maintenance, and develop and maintain relationships with external vendors and technology providers to identify and integrate state-of-the-art tools and solutions.
    • Develop and implement strategies for knowledge sharing and collaboration across the organization, and establish a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.


Your Profile

You are best equipped for this task if you have:

  • Master's degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in Advanced Process Control, maintenance optimization, or simulation modeling in the semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing industry, with a focus on leadership and technical expertise.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing, deploying, and optimizing APC frameworks and methods (e.g., model-predictive control, statistical process control) and in Fault Detection Algorithms (rule-based, model-based, machine learning), and experience with digital twin technology and simulation modeling tools.
  • Proven track record of implementing predictive, prescriptive maintenance or advanced process control solutions using AI/ML or data analytics, and experience with data analytics tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB) for statistical modeling and AI/ML applications.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes, tools, and equipment, and familiarity with Automation technologies and IoT frameworks, including automation integration across equipment controllers, sensors, and factory automation software.
  • Excellent communication abilities to bring over a complex message over different hierarchy levels, and analytical mindset with a demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems and experience applying DMAIC methods.
