We are looking for an Electronics Procurement Engineer with strong experience in PCA/PBA components and EMS supplier management. You will work closely with design, operations, quality, and EMS partners to ensure timely delivery of high-quality and cost-optimized electronic components. This role requires solid technical understanding of electronic parts, PCBA manufacturing processes, and supplier coordination in a fast-paced environment, as well as close collaboration with our manufacturing partner in Johor Bahru.

Main responsibilities

  • Manage direct procurement activities for electronic components and PCA/PBA assemblies.
  • Ensure availability of parts according to quality, delivery, and cost requirements.
  • Coordinate daily with EMS suppliers for delivery, schedules, capacity, shortages, and quality topics.
  • Lead RFQs, cost analysis, and cost-reduction initiatives with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Evaluate component feasibility, lifecycle, alternatives, and risk assessments (PCN, EOL, multi-sourcing).
  • Work with R&D to support DFM/DFx reviews for electronic designs.
  • Support qualification of electronic parts and assemblies, validating compliance with design and reliability requirements.
  • Drive supplier performance improvements, including 8D follow-ups, quality actions, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain procurement documentation, component databases, and supplier performance metrics.
  • Collaborate closely with manufacturing partners in Johor Bahru, including regular onsite visits to EMS and component suppliers.
  • Communicate fluently in English with global engineering, quality, and sourcing teams.

How you will work

  • Hybrid work model: 2–3 days/week onsite in Johor Bahru.
  • Monthly net salary: 6,500–8,000 MYR, depending on demonstrated experience.
  • Permanent contract from day one.

Requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, EMS management, or component sourcing for PCA/PBA.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electronic components, PCB/PCBA manufacturing processes, and assembly constraints.
  • Ability to evaluate BOMs, cost structures, alternates, PCNs, and EOL analysis.
  • Experience with DFM/DFx, 8D processes, and supplier quality workflows.
  • Familiarity with FMEA, IPC standards, and reliability/qualification processes is a plus.
  • Proficiency with ERP and procurement tools.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • High level of English for international collaboration.
  • Experience in industrial, consumer electronics, or printing environments is a plus.
