Job Summary:
The Program Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and successful delivery of multiple projects within a program that aligns with organizational
goals. This role serves as the primary point of contact for program stakeholders, ensuring that all projects under the program are completed on time, within budget, and
meet quality standards. The Program Manager will lead cross-functional teams, manage resources, and address risks while driving alignment across various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Program Planning and Strategy
1. Define the program's objectives and create a roadmap that aligns with organizational goals.
2. Develop a detailed program charter, including scope, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
3. Ensure program goals and benefits are clearly defined, measurable, and communicated to stakeholders.
4. Identify and manage dependencies between projects within the program.
Program Execution and Management
1. Oversee the execution of all projects within the program to ensure they align with the program's goals.
2. Coordinate cross-project activities and ensure resources are efficiently allocated.
3. Establish and maintain program governance frameworks, including steering committees and reporting structures.
4. Monitor program progress through metrics, KPIs, and dashboards.
5. Facilitate regular program status reviews, identifying and resolving roadblocks.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
1. Act as the primary liaison between program stakeholders, project managers, and senior leadership.
2. Ensure clear communication of program objectives, progress, and challenges to all relevant parties.
3. Manage stakeholder expectations and foster strong relationships across departments and teams.
4. Host program meetings, updates, and status presentations to ensure alignment and transparency.
Risk Management
1. Identify and assess risks at the program level, ensuring proper mitigation strategies are in place.
2. Proactively address interdependencies and conflicts that may impact program success.
3. Monitor and manage changes in program scope and their impact on timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
Team Leadership and Coordination
1. Lead and mentor project managers and other team members involved in the program.
2. Ensure alignment and collaboration between cross-functional teams.
3. Facilitate training and development opportunities to enhance team competencies.
4. Create a positive and productive team environment, fostering innovation and accountability.
Financial Management
1. Develop and manage the program budget, ensuring financial alignment with organizational goals.
2. Track program expenses and ensure cost-effectiveness without compromising quality.
3. Prepare financial reports and forecasts for program stakeholders and leadership.
Benefits Realization and Program Closure
1. Ensure program outcomes align with organizational strategies and deliver intended benefits.
2. Conduct program post-mortem reviews to identify lessons learned and improvement opportunities.
3. Document and archive program deliverables, outcomes, and key artifacts for future reference.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in program and/or project management.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale, cross-functional, cross country programs.
- Experience with project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira, or equivalent).
- Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies.
Certifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP), PgMP, or equivalent certification.
- Agile certifications such as PMI-ACP, SAFe, or CSM are a plus.
