POSITION: PROJECT TECHNICAL ASSISTANT

Forever Sabah is a 25-year program to support Sabah's transition to a diversified, equitable, circular economy. We are a civil society entity and serve as a collaborative social movement rather than a bureaucracy or NGO. We are an initiative rooted in local aspirations, built by an enthusiastic team who believes we can make our state better by utilizing Sabahan knowledge and experience and working with others and across sectors.

responsibilities:

• Manage the database for the Certified Sustainable Palm Oil (CSPO) for smallholders project
• Support the team in conducting participatory mapping
• Organize and process GIS data to produce digital maps
• Lead the Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC) process as needed and implement Facilitated Land Application Process (FLAP) methodology
• Assist team members in various project sections
• Provide training support for the Certified Sustainable Palm Oil (CSPO) for smallholders project as required
• Assist in preparing slide presentations for stakeholder meetings
• Engage with colleagues across Forever Sabah Berhad focal areas and projects

Qualifications:

• Minimum qualification: Diploma or higher in Geographic Information Systems or related field
• At least 2 years of working experience in GIS/Mapping
• Proficient in GIS software (QGIS) and GPS Technology
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications
• Proficient in spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia
• Have a strong time management skill
• Must be a team player, encouraging, helpful and cooperative

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Preferred candidates from Sabah who can start work IMMEDIATELY
• A valid driving license is required, as field visits will be conducted monthly.
