Safety and Health Officer (SHO)

Job Description

• Assume duties as a competent Safety Officer and to lead a team of site safety supervisors.
• Inspect all construction sites and monitor contractors' performance of compliance on safety, health & environment according to statutory environment.
• To advise and promote safe work, health and environment practices.
• To attend kick off meetings to brief on safety, health & environment requirements on site.
• To observe and participate in all weekly toolbox meetings by highlighting unsafe acts / conditions to create awareness to contractor's workers.
• To advise or update Management on policy / laws governing safety changes on health and environment.
• To liaise with internal auditor / external auditor during safety audits.
• To liaise with Government Authorities on safety, health and environment matters.
• To report on any accidents / incidents to Management and prepare an investigation report and recommend corrective actions to parties concerned.
• To follow up and advise the contractor's Safety Implementation Plan to meet project objectives.
• To focus, discipline, work diligently and with high integrity on duties.
• Any other duties as assigned by the Management.

Requirement:

• Candidates must possess at least a Professional Certificate in Engineering (Environmental/Health/Safety) or equivalent.
• Knowledge in Occupational Safety and Health 1994 act and other related regulations.
• At least 3 year(s) of working experience in construction industries especially dam works/structural
• Must be proactive and diligent in carrying out duties.
• Possession of excellent leadership skills is a must.
