What You Can Be Expected To Do:

  1. Safety Management System Development: Design and implement safety management systems specific to telecommunication tower construction, ensuring compliance with both local laws and international best practices.
  2. Risk Assessment and Hazard Management: Conduct risk assessments and identify hazards related to working at heights, electrical systems, and heavy machinery. Implement control measures to mitigate risks.
  3. Site Safety Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of telecommunication tower construction sites to ensure adherence to safety protocols, personal protective equipment (PPE) use, and operational safety standards.
  4. Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into site accidents, near-misses, and equipment failures, and provide actionable recommendations to prevent future incidents.
  5. Employee Safety Training: Organize safety training programs, toolbox talks, and specialized training for tower workers, focusing on fall protection, tower climbing, and emergency response.
  6. Contractor and Subcontractor Safety Compliance: Ensure that all contractors and subcontractors working on telecommunication towers follow the company’s safety guidelines and national safety regulations.
  7. Emergency Preparedness: Establish and maintain emergency response plans, particularly for incidents like falls from heights, electrical shocks, and tower collapses.
  8. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed safety records, including daily safety reports, incident logs, and safety audit results. Ensure compliance with DOSH reporting requirements.
  9. Collaboration with Regulatory Bodies: Liaise with DOSH, CIDB, and other relevant authorities to ensure full compliance with Malaysian safety laws. Support site inspections and audits.
  10. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve safety processes, introduce new technologies for enhanced worker safety, and drive a culture of safety excellence within the company.
  11. Managing the Warehouse : Identify the process on how to manage the warehouse for telecommunications equipment.
  12. Account Management : Handle one or two small-sized telecommunications projects to familiarize the knowledge on telecommunications.

What This Role Will Require:

  • Strong understanding of telecommunication tower construction hazards and safety regulations.
  • Experience in working at heights, including relevant safety procedures and fall arrest system including safety equipment.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage safety protocols across multiple tower sites.
  • Ability to manage and train a diverse workforce, including contractors and subcontractors.
  • Proficient in safety reporting tools and MS Office.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to act decisively in emergencies.
