They are currently seeking a Senior Accountant with expertise in India GAAP to join their Global Accounting team based in Petaling Jaya. What You'll Do
As a Senior Accountant, your primary responsibility will be partnering with business units and leading all general accounting. You will play a crucial role in leading the monthly book closing process to ensure timely reporting with high quality. Your role will require you to engage all stakeholders, including multiple business and finance teams, to ensure that financial statements represent complete business operations. Additionally, you will also need to drive finance-related projects and collaborate with other national sales entities in Asia Pacific for GAR areas to facilitate business growth.
As a Senior Accountant, you bring substantial experience within the corporate/management accounting field. Your strong understanding of India GAAPs coupled with your ability to work independently towards fulfilling targets makes you an ideal candidate for this role. Your excellent communication skills enable you to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders and your flexible mindset allows you to adapt to changing business needs. Your proficiency in MS Excel, SAP, and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) will be highly beneficial in this role.

What You'll Do
As a Senior Accountant, your primary responsibility will be partnering with business units and leading all general accounting. You will play a crucial role in leading the monthly book closing process to ensure timely reporting with high quality. Your role will require you to engage all stakeholders, including multiple business and finance teams, to ensure that financial statements represent complete business operations. Additionally, you will also need to drive finance-related projects and collaborate with other national sales entities in Asia Pacific for GAR areas to facilitate business growth.
- Perform accounting activities for the company's operations in India.
- Support Heads of Accounting and Finance Cluster on an adhoc basis in managing accounting processes and tasks.
- Partner with business units and advise on day-to-day accounting and more complex accounting questions.
- Lead the entire audit process from planning to execution till final audit close and AFS sign-off.
- Prepare statutory financial statements according to IFRS and/or local GAAP requirements.
- Lead and perform monthly financial book closing processes ensuring timely group reporting.
- Compute and post key provisions and accruals in alignment with business teams.
- Identify and lead improvement initiatives and process development in areas of responsibilities.

- Fluency in English is essential.
- Working experience with India accounting and finance environment along with very good understanding of India GAAPs is required.
- University degree in Finance & Accounting or equivalent is necessary.
- Around 8 years of experience in corporate/management accounting
- Experience or knowledge of tax system and accounting practices in India markets will be advantageous.
- Proficiency in Ms Excel and other Ms Office applications is preferred.
- Experience and Expertise in SAP is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) is preferred.
