The Engineering Technician will be responsible for conducting routine maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and assisting in process optimization while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Maintenance & Equipment Management
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for maintenance tasks.
- Conduct routine inspections on equipment to identify potential issues.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns.
- Diagnose and repair equipment failures in a timely and efficient manner.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to identify the root cause of equipment problems.
- Execute repairs and replace faulty components when necessary.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory compliance while performing maintenance tasks.
- Report and document equipment downtime incidents promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, inspections, and maintenance performed.
- Mechanical Technician Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections, lubrication, and basic servicing of mechanical components (bearings, gears, shafts, etc.).
- Assist in replacing mechanical parts such as bolts, nuts, washers, and seals under the guidance of senior technicians.
- Clean mechanical parts and apply lubricants as needed for proper function and longevity.
- Follow safety guidelines when handling and maintaining mechanical parts.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, including part replacements and lubrication schedules.
- Communicate with supervisors and colleagues to report issues and request support as needed.
- Oversee specific sections of the production process, including:
- Preparation until blending
- Forming until BBS
- Cooking until freezer
- After freezing until palletizing
- Compliance, Safety & Quality
- Ensure adherence to all safety and environmental regulations in maintenance activities.
- Participate in safety training programs and promote a culture of workplace safety.
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards while performing maintenance tasks.
- Support the Quality team in addressing equipment-related deviations or non-conformances.
- Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for improving equipment efficiency and reliability.
- Work with production and engineering teams to enhance process performance.
- Assist in implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as downtime and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or related field).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in equipment maintenance or engineering support in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical understanding of basic manufacturing equipment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office ( Outlook, Word, PP & eXCEL) & SAP will be value added.
- Strong communication, negotiation, problem-solving, analysis, and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in reading technical manuals and blueprints.
