  • Their portfolio spans to over more than 30 companies, including cement and phosphate manufacturing, property development, construction, trading, green technology, oil tools, trading, telco infrastructure and financial services.

Job Purpose: The Senior Executive, Governance and Compliance in Group Procurement will play a critical role in ensuring the alignment of procurement activities with internal policies, legal requirements, and industry standards. This position is responsible for strengthening and maintaining procurement governance frameworks that ensure transparency, ethical practices, and compliance across the group’s procurement operations. The role also focuses on managing risk, ensuring adherence to regulations, and implementing continuous improvements in procurement processes, contributing to the long-term sustainability and success of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve governance frameworks and compliance processes in procurement.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to internal procurement policies, corporate governance standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify, assess, and manage procurement risks and ensure robust risk mitigation strategies are in place.
  • Perform regular audits of procurement activities to ensure compliance and identify areas of improvement.
  • Provide support to the business in addressing any procurement-related compliance issues or concerns.
  • Work with stakeholders to draft, review, and update procurement policies, procedures, guidelines and work instructions to reflect regulatory changes, industry best practices, and organizational requirements.
  • Ensure procurement practices are aligned with the company’s corporate values and sustainability goals.
  • Stay up to date with industry regulations and legal developments affecting procurement and supply chain functions.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant laws, including those related to anti-corruption, competition, and ethical sourcing.
  • Facilitate necessary compliance reporting and audits as per organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide training and guidance to procurement teams on compliance-related matters, ethical sourcing practices, and best governance practices.
  • Raise awareness of governance and compliance issues through workshops, seminars, and communication.
  • Prepare reports on governance and compliance activities for senior management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records of compliance activities and audits.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (legal, finance, internal audit, Compliance) to ensure coordinated compliance efforts across the organization.
  • Collaborate with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and industry experts to ensure procurement activities meet compliance expectations.
  • Conduct vendor due diligence and compliance checks as per company policies.
  • Promote a culture of ethical procurement and transparency within the organization.

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, compliance, governance or audit roles.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement regulations, industry best practices, and compliance standards.
  • Familiarity with global regulatory frameworks (e.g., anti-corruption laws).
  • Understanding of risk management principles and internal control systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance.
  • Strong ethical framework and a commitment to promoting integrity and transparency within procurement practices.
  • Leadership capabilities with the ability to influence and drive change within a complex, cross-functional environment.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
