Responsibilities
- Integration design & development: Architect, build, and maintain robust integrations between our platform and external systems (e.g., Zendesk, HubSpot, and other CRM/CS tools). Ensure scalability, reliability, and security within our AWS environment.
- Workflow orchestration: Leverage Camunda to model, automate, and optimize complex business processes that span multiple platforms, ensuring integrations align with business workflows.
- API engineering: Design and implement well-structured APIs and services that enable seamless data exchange across platforms, following best practices in versioning, authentication, and error handling.
- Collaboration: Partner with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to translate business workflows into technical solutions that improve customer and internal team experiences.
- Observability & reliability: Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for integrations. Investigate incidents, resolve root causes, and proactively harden systems against recurrence.
- Continuous improvement: Stay ahead of evolving integration patterns, CRM ecosystem capabilities, orchestration frameworks, and industry best practices to ensure our integration platform remains modern and competitive.
- Experience: 6+ years in backend or platform engineering, with a strong focus on system integrations, workflow orchestration, and API-driven solutions.
- Technical proficiency: Solid background in distributed architectures (microservices, event-driven, serverless). Expertise with Node.js, TypeScript, NestJS, or similar frameworks. Experience with REST/GraphQL APIs, webhooks, middleware patterns, and workflow automation.
- Camunda expertise: Hands-on experience with Camunda BPM (or similar orchestration engines) for process modeling, automation, and monitoring.
- Problem solving: Strong analytical mindset with the ability to debug complex integration flows and resolve issues across multiple systems.
- Database management: Hands-on experience with relational databases (AWS Aurora, PostgreSQL, MySQL), including schema design and ORM frameworks (TypeORM).
- Domain advantage: Familiarity with payments, credit card systems, or AWS certifications is a plus.
- Integration ecosystem: Direct experience implementing or maintaining integrations with platforms like Zendesk, HubSpot, Salesforce, or other CRM/CX tools will set you apart.
