Responsibilities:
Lead the kitchen team by setting a positive example, fostering team spirit, and ensuring a high level of motivation and professionalism.
Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring proper coordination between departments and food service is timely and of the highest quality.
Maintain stringent hygiene standards to ensure a clean and safe kitchen environment.
Manage kitchen staff with fairness, promoting a harmonious and productive working atmosphere. Work with Sous Chefs to ensure smooth operation across all kitchen sections.
Monitor food preparation standards, portion control, and presentation. Ensure food is served at optimal temperatures and quality.
Assist with menu planning, recipe creation, and tasting sessions for new dishes. Collaborate on menu promotions and updates.
Review and analyse monthly profit and loss statements with senior management. Ensure efficient use of resources to minimize waste and spoilage.
Provide ongoing guidance and training to kitchen staff to improve skills and knowledge, fostering a culture of growth and excellence.
Qualifications
Apprenticeship or college-level education in Culinary Arts.
Minimum 4 years of experience in an international hotel environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role
Strong leadership and communication skills
Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia
Flexible and able to work as per hotel operational needs and requirements.
Due to work permit restrictions, only citizens of Malaysia and Permanent Residents of Malaysia shall be considered.
