As our SUPV, SECURITY you’ll support HID’s success by:

Summary

He/ she will maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by establishing and enforcing security policies and procedures. Supervise the security guard force and oversee landscaping and pest control. Display the highest level of integrity and ethics.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Plan, direct or coordinate security activities to safeguard company assets, employees, guests, or others on company property.
  • Write or review security-related documents, such as incident reports, proposals, and tactical or strategic initiatives.
  • Maintain a strong and visible presence to deter unlawful or inappropriate behavior. Conduct regular patrols and monitor surveillance systems to detect potential threats such as criminal activity or safety hazards and take appropriate action to mitigate risks.
  • Preventive Maintenance of ELV Security Systems: Maintain optimal functionality of all Extra-Low Voltage (ELV) security systems including CCTV, door access systems, emergency door systems, photo beam sensors, and visitor management systems (VMS) to ensure 24/7 operational readiness in compliance with procedural standards and policies requirements.
  • Conduct annual internal audits for relevant departments to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
  • Oversee and control the annual budget allocation for the security department, ensuring efficient utilization of resources to support operational goals and organizational objectives.
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive incidents and reports to Management when necessary. For any security breaches to ensure transparency and timely corrective actions.
  • Train subordinate security professionals or other organization members in security rules and procedures.
  • Assist in public enforcement, emergency management, local authorities’ inspection, internal fire drill, fire protection systems test, and others related activities to security systems.
  • Respond to medical emergencies, fire alarms, or intrusion alarms, following emergency response procedures.
  • Monitor security policies, programs or procedures to ensure compliance with internal securities policies, licensing requirements or applicable government security requirements, policies and directives.
  • Collect and analyze security data to determine security needs, security program goals or program accomplishments.
  • Analyze and evaluate security operations to identify risks or opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure and monitor pest control. Landscaping and security progress conduct accordingly based on contracts.
  • Ensure service providers comply with HID safety, security and environment policies. Renewal and update materials Safet Data Sheet.
  • Conduct regular inspections of pest control and landscaping activities to assess management needs and deliver solutions (if needed).
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of pest control, landscaping performed, chemical inventories, and equipment usage.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery, while managing budgeting and resource allocation. sharing services jobs scope to procurement department when service contracts end or renewal.
  • Review department procedures from time to time, and revise when change of Security setup or increase of equipment.
  • Evaluate vendor, supplier, contractors’ performance.
  • Be an accountable back-up to the Security Manager

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Education And/or Experience

  • Proven experience as security management or similar position.
  • Experience using relevant technology and equipment (e.g. CCTV, Access Control, Visitor Management System).
  • Excellent knowledge of security protocols and procedures.
  • High School Diploma with further education in security administration in a similar field will be an advantage.
  • Security Certificate from recognized authority will be an advantage
  • Familiarizes with Hikvision brand and proficient in using the iVMS software for CCTV management, as well as experienced in operating the EntryPass access control system software will be an advantage.
  • Capable of troubleshooting slight issues with CCTV and door access systems to provide immediate response, as well as performing basic device repairs when necessary to ensure prompt resolution.
  • Possession of ISO 9001 certification is considered an additional strength, demonstrating a commitment to quality management systems and enabling effective participation in audit processes. This certification validates that an organization adheres to internationally recognized standards for quality, which is beneficial for both operational excellence and client assurance

Language Skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in Bahasa Malaysia verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, etc.
  • Must have the ability to perform additions, subtractions, etc.

Computer Skills

  • Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Familiar with operating systems, such as Windows, as well as various platform software solutions provided will be advantage.

Work Environment

  • Employees work primarily in a manufacturing environment, within a well-ventilated area and exposed to moderate noise levels.

Work Requirements

  • Compliance with all relevant HID Global policies and procedures related to Quality, Security, Safety, Business Continuity and Environmental systems.
  • On-call and on-site support for emergency cases. And respond during major breakdown of Security equipment, as necessary.
  • Preferred to work in night shift or rotating shift when necessary
