As our TEST & COMPLIANCE ENGINEEyou’ll support HID’s success by:
Summary
In close co-operation with the Global Engineering, NPI Engineering, Marketing and Production teams, you will oversee detailed testing and characterization of newly developed products as well as of existing RFID credentials, with the goal to improve costs, performance and especially customer experience.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Define RFID and pre-compliance testing to ensure internal and external customers’ full satisfaction and product competitiveness.
- Introduce and put in use new measurement equipment in all frequency ranges (LF, HF, UHF, Wi-Fi, UWB).
- Execute, validate and Debug digital credential test cases for mobile wallet platforms
- Support business and QA related benchmarking and product-related problem debugging.
- Support customers and partners for product integration in systems.
- Compose detailed and structured test / characterization reports in English.
- Train other Business Segments in HID Global as well as Product Development Engineers in testing.
- Evaluate and constantly benchmark test procedures and drive continuous improvement.
- Upgrade and improve test equipment usage to improve test systems performance and reliability parameters.
- Manages a team of technicians and assistants
- Consult with hardware engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interfaces between hardware & software and operational & performance requirements of the overall system.
Other Responsibilities:
- Ensure all activities are performed in a manner that does not create unnecessary environment impacts.
- Monitor and ensure compliance to environment operational controls and compliance with applicable legal and other requirement.
- Communicate clear roles and responsibility for environmental control
Technical Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Proficient in RF and hardware testing and characterization.
- Familiar with RFID technologies (readers, ICs, systems—both hardware and software).
- Experience in antenna design across 125kHz, 13.56MHz, 900MHz, and 2.45GHz frequency ranges.
- Knowledge of compliance testing CE standard for RFID, Bluetooth, Wifi tags (EN302208, EN300328)
- Knowledge of programming and digital commands
- Skilled in project and development tools such as MS Project, Jira, Confluence, FMEA, and Design of Experiments.
Education and/or Experience
- Technical degree in electronics, microelectronics, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience (10+ for senior roles); testing experience is advantageous.
- Strong foundation in magnetic and RFID system principles and pre-compliance testing.
- Project management experience and strong communication/reporting skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Minitab, Oracle, LabVIEW, and Agile tools (Jira, TestRail, Miro, Scrum, TrackSafe).
- Comfortable working in international and cross-functional teams.
- Highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently.
Language Skills
- Ability to effectively communicate in the English verbally and in writing. Additional languages knowledge would be a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, international technical standards, etc.
Computer Skills
- Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Working knowledge on CST or equivalent is a plus.
- Working knowledge on LabView is a plus.
