Toolroom Manager

About the role
Are you an experienced Toolroom Manager looking to take the next step in your career? Schmaco Auto Parts Industries Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled Toolroom Manager to join our team in Rawang, Selangor. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of our toolroom, ensuring the availability of high-quality tools and equipment to support our manufacturing processes.

What you'll be doing

• To manage and plan activities of the tool room, ensuring departmental objectives are met
• To manage and guarantee on time availability of tools
• To maximise productivity and maintain the highest levels of workmanship for all tooling activities
• To oversee all work through the tool room efficiently and cost effectively and ensure that all target dates for tooling are met
• To manage the team on technical best practice and establish standard policies and procedures whilst also mentoring and leading the team
• To implement and manage continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principals by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes
• To support production and engineering with tooling/technical problems
• To ensure all stock items, tool inserts and spares are organised
• To prepare technical drawings and design for metal stamping parts
• To develop, implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Toolroom Manager or in a similar supervisory role within the manufacturing industry
• Strong technical knowledge of tool design, fabrication, and maintenance processes
• Proficient in the use of tool management software and data analysis tools
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work under pressure
• Demonstrated experience in leading and developing a team of toolroom technicians
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and the ability to ensure compliance within the toolroom
• 5.5 day (Monday 9am to 6pm to Saturday 9am to 2pm) working basis
• Able to communicate in Mandarin and English with client
