Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in management consulting, business, or vendor operations.
  • Experience in vendor or extended workforce management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 15 years of experience in Business-to-Business (B2B) vendor operations management within a technology motivated, multi-supplier global environment.
  • Experience in managing B2B vendor operations with the ability to engage with suppliers and vendor teams.
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and managing multi-year vendor strategies (e.g., cost savings, business growth enablement, risk reduction, quality improvement).
  • Ability to communicate in Japanese fluently to build and maintain Japanese-speaking vendor relationships.

About the jobIn this role, you will be a leader within the Vendor Management Operations (VMO), reporting to the Global Head of Vendor Operations. You will elevate the vendor operations beyond traditional management paradigms. You will architect, execute, and refine forward-thinking vendor strategies, leveraging data analysis to generate insights that inform executive decisions. You will advocate and drive the identification, development, and implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Automation solutions to transform the vendor ecosystem's efficiency, intelligence, and performance. You will own vendor relationships and operational outcomes, ensuring they not only meet performance standards but also contribute to value creation. You will grow in ambiguity, have business acumen, grow in a cross-functional influence, and will be passionate about leveraging technology to redefine operational excellence.Google Cloud accelerates every organization’s ability to digitally transform its business and industry. Responsibilities

  • Develop, articulate, and implement global vendor and location strategies aligned with overarching business goals and market dynamics.
  • Lead agreement negotiations, structuring business models that drive optimal value, performance, and alignment.
  • Define, track, and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and operational metrics, moving beyond standard reporting to uncover performance trends and root causes.
  • Drive improvements in vendor operations by identifying, evaluating, and building business cases for the application of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Robotic Process Automation.
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders across functions (e.g., Business, Engineering, Finance, Product, Legal) to understand their evolving needs and ensure vendor capabilities and solutions are aligned to deliver business value.
