Job Description:
The Volunteer for International Experience (VIE) is a unique international program sponsored by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment, open to Airbus to offer young professionals the opportunity to have valuable paid work experience abroad in a technical or business function.
The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria.
VIE Main Requirements:
European Union citizens (plus Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Monaco), graduates up to and including 28 years old
Have fulfilled military obligations for their country, if any

The contract duration of VIE is between 6 to 24 months.
A VIE for a Business improvement has arisen within Airbus Helicopters / Airbus Helicopters Malaysia in Subang/Malaysia.
You will join Operations Departments. We are seeking highly motivated operations improvement personnel to join our team as part of the VIE (Volontariat International en Entreprise) program. In this role, you will work closely with the Head of Operations and other department heads to drive continuous improvement across various operational functions, including hangar organization, workflow optimization, digitalization initiatives, and performance management. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the transformation of our Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) operations and play a key role in optimizing performance across the board.
Tasks & accountabilities
Your main tasks will include:
Hangar Operations Improvement
Collaborate with the Head of Maintenance to oversee and follow up on hangar improvement initiatives, ensuring the smooth implementation of action plans.
Conduct Gemba walks to identify potential areas for improvement and ensure ongoing alignment with lean principles.
Optimize parts workflows, covering new parts, repairs, and scrap management.
Enhance bay organization and layout to improve operational efficiency and minimize downtime.
Digitalization and MRO Transformation
Support department heads in driving the digitalization of maintenance activities, helping to implement new systems and tools.
Assist in the deployment of AHM New MRO MIS and the overall digitalization of MRO processes, improving the accuracy and accessibility of data for better decision-making.
Maintenance Slot Optimization
Analyze and propose improvements to the maintenance slot organization, including defining the scope of work, budgeting, and managing implementation.
Improve the flow of spares, components, and tools to enhance operational efficiency, and propose actionable improvement plans.
MRO Scheduling & Visual Management
Contribute to the enhancement of the MRO Master Schedule and the daily schedule, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively.
Set up and manage visual information systems for the MRO to support real-time tracking and communication of key performance metrics.
Operations SQCDP Setup
Develop and implement the Operations SQCDP (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People) framework to monitor and improve overall operational performance.
Performance Management & Continuous Improvement
Act as a Project Management Officer (PMO) for the AHM Operations Department, ensuring the continuous monitoring and improvement of performance indicators, including MRO, MSL (Material Support Logistics), and warehouse operations.
Launch corrective and improvement actions based on performance data, ensuring that operational targets are met and exceeded.
Required skills
You have the following skills and experience:
Educated to Master/Degree level or equivalent in Aviation/Aerospace discipline.
Experience in process optimization, lean manufacturing, or similar continuous improvement initiatives is a plus.
Any certifications in MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) operations or project management (e.g., Six Sigma, PMP) will be advantageous.
Strong communication skills and good command of written and spoken English.
Good interpersonal skills, leadership, autonomy, team oriented, and has a logical approach to problem solving and decision making.
Ability to work with all levels of employees in a multi-cultural and international setting.
Be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and able to work under pressure.

Negotiation level of English
