Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Operations Excellence

• Lead, guide & manage team to deliver seamless services to our customers & work towards achieving all operational excellence KPIs in the department.
• Support and assist National Airfreight Manager to oversees the import and export division.
• Drive Safety culture within the department & act as role model for other staff within the organization.
• Seamless on-boarding & implementation of new business/customers with 100% ownership by all stake holders in the department to achieve all KPIs as per defined SLAs/handling instructions. This applies for all airfreight customers including export/import/brokerage.
• Ensure correct TGF policies are being adhered to in the department as per product & company policy.
• Ensure compliance with correct export procedures to all countries and all approved network agency & co-load programs.
• Jointly responsible with country management for all regulatory compliance as it applies.
• Monitor and ensure all staffs performed DP screening without fail for all shipments.
  
  

Carrier/Supplier Relations and Procurement

• Implement Core & strategic Carrier Program compliance in air export.
• Measure & maintain carrier performance against other carriers and global industry standards.
• Selection of suppliers as per company set procedures & compliance.
• Conduct periodic service reviews within top 10 carriers/suppliers, maintain Minutes of the Meetings with action items to follow up / track progress.
  
  

Product Development and Basic Finance

• Jointly responsible for the Profit and Loss of air import & export department.
• Responsible to manage & maintain RFQ pricing, tariff pricing and maintenance within the branch.
• Pricing responsibility for all Air freight RFQs & spot queries.
• Identification of in-house/network customers for deep/cross selling opportunities through building a basic customer profile for applicable in-house/network customers & reporting the same to country product head on periodic / monthly basis. This is applicable for all airfreight & warehouse customers.
• Monitor all co-load volumes with the goal of direct execution of such business through direct airlines buy rates as fast as possible.
• Maintain Air export schedules & rate cards in approved formats to support business development.
• Achieve & maintain yield and GP/unit targets as defined by country product.
• Explore and deploy GP growth initiatives in air export through competitive cost management, pushing for increased GP & margins.
• Support local sales when requested/required.
  
  

General Management and Administration

• Ensure staff assessments are conducted in a timely manner as per company guidelines.
• Assist and coach the direct reports in daily duties. Hold regular meetings for information flow.
• Responsible for solving problems, including those related to staff & operations.
• Responsible to identify career path development and training as required for the direct reports.
• Attend all internal & external meetings to represent air export as & when required.
• Report (to country product manager) all the updates regarding carrier relationships, suppliers, market information and intelligence on an ongoing basis.
• Liaoning, communicating and meeting with MY customs & airport authorities as and when required.
• Able to manage and assist customs import and export operations
