Construction Manager / Site Agent

Job Description

We are a local main contractor in Pulau Pinang, specializing in construction of Mechanical & Electrical Plants, namely for the Water Supply Sector. We are seeking for an experience Construction Manager/Site Agent to oversee and manage construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all aspects of construction, including scheduling, budgeting, and quality control. The successful candidate will work closely with project teams, consultants, sub-contractors, and clients to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards.

The ideal candidate should have strong leadership and communication skills, in particularly English and Bahasa Malaysia, a good understanding of construction processes and materials, and a proven track record of successfully managing complex construction projects.

Core Responsibilities

• Project Planning and Scheduling

Construction Manager/Site Agent develop detailed project plans, outlining objectives, timelines, and key milestones. They create realistic schedules using tools like Gantt charts to track progress, account for delays, and ensure teams are aligned with deadlines.

• Budgeting and Cost Management

Prepare detailed cost estimates, including materials, labor, and equipment, and monitor expenditures throughout the project. Regular budget reviews and financial tracking help maintain control and identify potential savings

• Site Supervision and Coordination

Supervise daily site operations, delegate tasks, and ensure that subcontractors, and workers perform efficiently. Coordinate with engineers, and clients to maintain project alignment with design specifications.

• Quality Control and Compliance

Ensuring adherence to building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards is a critical responsibility. To implement safety measures, conduct inspections, and resolve on-site issues to maintain compliance.

• Stakeholder Communication

They act as the primary point of contact between clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project teams, providing updates, approving purchase requests, and addressing any changes in project scope or design.

• Contract and Subcontract Management

To review contracts, manage subcontractors, and oversee procurement to ensure that all project stages are delivered efficiently and meet contractual obligations.

• Technical and Leadership Skills

Must possess strong technical knowledge of construction processes, materials, and project management practices, along with leadership and communication skills to manage teams effectively
