We are looking for a highly organized, driven, detail-oriented, and customer-focused leader who can take ownership of the department. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who sees what needs to be done, creates a plan, and follows through without constant direction.

The Contents Manager will oversee all aspects of contents restoration, including pack-outs, inventory, cleaning, transportation, storage, pack-backs, scheduling, documentation, customer communication, staffing, quality control, and financial performance.

This position reports directly to the Restoration Operations Manager and will initially lead a dedicated Contents Supervisor. Additional Contents Technicians will be added as the department grows.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and manage the Contents Division using SERVPRO systems, standards, and procedures
  • Oversee inspections, pack-outs, inventory, cleaning, storage, transportation, and pack-backs
  • Deliver a professional and compassionate customer experience
  • Communicate with customers, insurance professionals, vendors, subcontractors, and internal team members
  • Develop project scopes and review estimates
  • Schedule employees, vehicles, equipment, materials, and vendors
  • Ensure photographs, inventories, job notes, authorizations, and supporting documentation are complete and accurate
  • Track job progress, production costs, revenue, profitability, and department performance
  • Maintain an organized warehouse, cleaning area, storage system, and equipment inventory
  • Establish quality-control standards for handling and tracking customer belongings
  • Ensure compliance with safety and risk-management procedures
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and develop contents personnel
  • Lead and support the Contents Supervisor in daily field operations
  • Identify staffing needs based on workload, revenue, backlog, and profitability
  • Report department performance and operational needs to the Restoration Operations Manager
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Who We’re Looking For

  • Self-starter who takes ownership and initiative
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects
  • Driven to achieve production, profitability, quality, and growth goals
  • Detail-oriented, especially with inventory and documentation
  • Customer-centric and able to communicate with empathy
  • Comfortable making decisions and solving problems independently
  • Able to create systems, set expectations, and hold team members accountable
  • Comfortable balancing field involvement with management responsibilities

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • At least three years of operations experience
  • At least one year of management or supervisory experience
  • Experience in restoration, contents cleaning, moving, logistics, warehousing, construction, or a related field preferred
  • Restoration industry certifications preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Basic computer and mobile-technology skills
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to pass applicable employment screenings

Compensation

This position offers a competitive base salary plus performance-based incentive compensation.

Additional compensation may be earned by meeting or exceeding department goals related to:

  • Revenue and production
  • Gross profit and job profitability
  • Project turnaround times
  • Documentation and inventory accuracy
  • Customer satisfaction
  • Quality control
  • Department growth
  • Safety and operational compliance

Specific performance goals and incentive amounts will be clearly defined.

Schedule and Travel

This is a full-time position with a typical schedule of 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, averaging approximately 45 hours per week.

Additional hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required based on project needs and emergency-service demands.

Travel is primarily local throughout Sussex County and surrounding areas. Occasional out-of-area travel may be required.

Physical Requirements

This position includes office work, warehouse oversight, field management, and jobsite visits.

The Employee May Be Required To

  • Lift up to 50 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with assistance
  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, push, pull, and carry
  • Work around dust, odors, cleaning products, fumes, and airborne particles
  • Work in hot, cold, noisy, or challenging jobsite conditions
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including a respirator when required

Reasonable accommodations may be made for qualified individuals with disabilities.

What We Offer

  • Competitive base salary
  • Performance-based incentive opportunities
  • The opportunity to build and lead a growing department
  • Access to established SERVPRO systems and resources
