Data Steward

Your role in HEINEKEN

As a Data Steward, you will lead data governance and data quality improvement across HEINEKEN Malaysia, ensuring trusted and well-understood data supports reliable reporting, business insights and decision-making.

You will connect business data owners, MDM specialists, Digital & Technology (D&T), and HEINEKEN regional and global data teams to strengthen data ownership, improve data processes and align local practices with global standards.

In this role, you will also

• Monitor Data Quality Dashboard results, perform root cause analysis, coordinate corrective actions and lead data cleansing activities to drive sustainable improvement.
• Identify gaps between local master data and HEINEKEN global standards, recommend process improvements and coordinate cross-functional remediation.
• Establish and maintain business data ownership, clarify accountabilities, facilitate governance decisions and track risks, actions and escalations.
• Maintain an inventory of priority data assets, business definitions, ownership and data lineage in Collibra or the approved governance platform.
• Act as a key contact for master data matters, supporting compliant mass changes, deletion requests, access and role validation, incidents and SOP updates.
• Lead OpCo-side data cleansing and readiness activities for DMW, DBB and relevant data migration or transformation programmes.
• Support data validation and user readiness to ensure successful implementation of transformation initiatives.
• Translate technical data topics into clear business language and influence stakeholders to strengthen data accountability.
• Deliver updates, guidance and training to business stakeholders to improve understanding and ownership of data.
• Collaborate with Business Data Owners, Business Process Owners, MDM, D&T, Finance, Sales, Supply Chain, Procurement and relevant control functions.
• Work closely with Regional and Global Data Management teams, Data Specialists, Analysts and other OpCo Data Stewards to align local data practices with HEINEKEN standards.
  
  

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in data management, master data management, data governance, data quality, business analysis or a related area.
• Good knowledge of SAP Master Data, data governance and data quality concepts, data analysis, databases and data modelling.
• Knowledge of the HEINEKEN Enterprise Data Model and global master data processes would be relevant to the role.
• Experience with Collibra or a comparable data catalogue platform, Mendix, DMW or relevant data quality tools is preferred.
• Exposure to data migration and cleansing programmes.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to work across functions without direct authority.
• Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong end-to-end ownership and project coordination skills.
• Collaborative and proactive, with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Good command of written and spoken English. Bahasa Malaysia is an advantage for local stakeholder engagement.
