Head of Engineering (Design Authority) - (Sarawak) Malaysia

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the overall technical authority across all engineering disciplines
• Provide engineering leadership and ensure alignment with project requirements and standards
• Review and approve key engineering deliverables (PFDs, P&IDs, layouts, calculations)
• Lead multidisciplinary coordination and resolve design conflicts
• Ensure compliance with project specifications and international standards (ISO, NFPA, ASME, IEC)
• Oversee safety studies (HAZID, HAZOP, SIL)
• Support decision-making on engineering design strategy and technology selection
• Interface with client, EPC contractor, and relevant authorities
• Report to Project Management team and propose solutions to technical issues

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent
• Registered with BEM or recognized professional body
• Minimum 12 years of experience in Oil & Gas industry
• Strong experience in:
  • Design review and project assurance
  • EPCC / Design & Build projects
  • Managing multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Based in Sarawak or eligible to obtain a Sarawak working permit

Additional Information

• Full-time on-site role in Kuching (no remote work)
• Candidates will be required to support activities at client and stakeholder locations when needed
• Candidates are expected to use their own working equipment (laptop/software)
