1. Production Intern, Jeffrey Cheah Performing Arts Centre
Internship Description
The Production Intern will support the Production Department in coordinating rehearsals, performances, production documentation, scheduling, communication, and general show operations. This internship is suitable for students who are interested in theatre production, stage management, arts administration, performing arts management, and live event coordination.
The intern will gain hands-on exposure to how a performing arts centre prepares, manages, and supports productions from pre-production to performance period.
Key Responsibilities
The Production Intern will assist with:
- Production administration and coordination
- Preparing and updating production documents, schedules, checklists, contact lists, and reports
- Supporting rehearsal and performance coordination
- Assisting with communication between production teams, creative teams, technical teams, and internal departments
- Organising production folders, files, forms, and show-related records
- Supporting audition, callback, rehearsal, and production meeting arrangements where required
- Assisting with licensing, submission tracking, guest list coordination, and other production-related tasks
- Providing on-site support during selected rehearsals, events, or production periods
- May be assigned to support different production roles where required, including stage crew, props assistant, or other backstage duties.
- Other production-related duties assigned by the Production Department
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Diploma or Degree in Performing Arts, Theatre Production, Event Management, or related field.
- Interest in theatre, performing arts, events, or production management
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Basic computer skills, especially Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Drive, and email
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and support different areas of production work
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to work flexible hours during selected rehearsal or performance periods, when required
- Prior theatre, school production, event, or stage management experience will be an added advantage, but is not compulsory
2. Technical Intern, Jeffrey Cheah Performing Arts Centre
Internship Description
The Technical Intern will support the Technical Department in preparing and managing technical requirements for productions, events, rehearsals, and venue operations. This internship is suitable for students who are interested in theatre technical production, lighting, sound, video, staging, rigging, and backstage operations.
The intern will gain practical exposure to the technical side of a professional performing arts centre and learn how technical teams support live performances and events.
Key Responsibilities
The Technical Intern will assist with:
- Technical preparation for productions, rehearsals, and events
- Supporting lighting, sound, video, staging, and backstage-related tasks
- Assisting with technical documentation, equipment lists, technical riders, and setup records
- Supporting inventory checks, equipment tracking, and technical log sheets
- Assisting with basic setup, testing, maintenance, and packing of technical equipment
- Supporting the Technical Supervisor and technical team during selected rehearsals, events, or production periods
- Observing and assisting with venue technical operations and safety procedures
- Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of technical work areas
- Other technical-related duties assigned by the Technical Department
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Diploma or Degree in Technical Theatre, Audio Engineering, Event Technology, Performing Arts, or related field.
- Interest in international theatre technical production, live events, lighting, sound, video, or stage operations
- Willingness to learn hands-on technical work
- Good discipline, punctuality, and attention to safety
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting
- Physically able to assist with basic setup, equipment handling, and backstage duties
- Ability to work flexible hours during selected rehearsal or performance periods, when required
- Prior experience in school productions, theatre, concerts, events, AV, lighting, or sound will be an added advantage, but is not compulsory
