Junior IT Software Developer

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in programming and a passion for learning new technologies and good attitude. Assist in designing, coding, testing, and maintaining software solutions to meet business needs while collaborating with a team of experienced developers and IT MES team.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with MES support team to design, build, test and deploy software applications based on business requirements.
• Develop software features by writing clean, efficient, maintainable and well-structured code.
• Identify, troubleshoot and fix software bugs, performance issues and system errors.
• Participate in all testing activities, including unit testing, integration testing, system testing and user acceptance support.
• Perform maintenance, enhancements and regular updates on existing applications to ensure stability and performance.
• Provide technical support and timely issue resolution for internal IT teams, MES users and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Prepare and update technical documentation, including design documents, user guides and release notes when required.
• Support MES operations in a 24x7 manufacturing environment, including occasional after-hours or weekend assistance when needed.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth implementation, integration and support of MES solutions.
• Respond to production-impacting incidents with a strong sense of ownership, urgency and responsibility to minimize downtime.
• Demonstrate a positive and proactive mindset, especially when handling system challenges or supporting urgent production needs.
• Work well as part of a team, showing strong teamwork, willingness to help colleagues and commitment to overall MES system success.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with IT peers, MES users and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth coordination and efficient issue resolution.
  
  

Skills and Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related discipline; equivalent practical experience is also acceptable.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as VB.Net, JavaScript, C#, or similar languages.
• Basic understanding of web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript and/or experience with backend development frameworks.
• Familiarity with database systems (SQL Server, Oracle) and ability to perform basic queries, updates and data analysis.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to break down problems, identify root causes, and propose solutions.
• Willingness to learn new technologies, frameworks and tools as required for project needs.
• Good communication skills for working with team members, documenting work, and supporting internal users.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
  
  

Preferred (but not mandatory) Skills:

• Experience in Manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of Camstar application.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Exposure to APIs and RESTful services.
