KEY TAKS

General Management and Leadership

  • Ensure execution of Regional and Global Airfreight strategy in the branch
  • Drive effective and future-oriented resource planning in the branch Airfreight organization, in line with productivity targets: place the right people into the right roles and hire talent with the right skills to make a career, not only to fill current vacancies
  • Effectively manage the performance of the branch Airfreight teams, coach and support the team leaders as necessary
  • Drive change management in the branch Airfreight organization
  • Escalate quality / performance issues to superiors when necessary
  • Monitor performance against annually agreed Product KPI’s and initiate corrective actions

Drive profitability

  • Actively manage the branch Airfreight Product P&L by managing vendor cost and by ensuring profitability in the day-to-day operations
  • Drive actions to maximize profit on file level and to eliminate loss-making files
  • Together with the Forwarding Order Controllers, ensure compliance with financial policies
  • Overall responsibility for file maintenance; on-time billing, WQ, DSO, job costing accuracy and others, as per defined targets Product KPI

Operational Delivery

  • Ensure consistent achievement of operational standards to meet customer requirements
  • Manage and monitor productivity KPIs against budget, initiate corrective actions
  • Optimize and implement operational standards & guidelines and drive continuous improvement of branch operations
  • Monitor operational performance (sub-contractors, productivity, quality of service, data, incident handling) and initiate, implement and control corrective actions; escalate to superiors when needed.
  • Evaluate and monitor operational risks, ensure contingency planning, and implement corrective actions;

Trade Lane Management, Procurement & Subcontractor Management

  • Ensure adherence to Carrier Policy and escalate to superiors in case of conflicts
  • Proactively manage allocation planning in line with carrier policy
  • Monitor Inbound/Outbound volume development/trade lane aligned with target setting.
  • Manage subcontractors on branch level in line with Global Standards.

Support of Commercial Functions

  • Support branch Commercial in executing the Commercial strategy to fulfill given growth targets
  • Support Commercial in creation of customer target lists
  • Ensure that selling rates conform to local markets
  • Define market-conform spot rates for local business opportunities
  • Drive actions to increase revenue from local fee-based services (e.g. local charges, customs clearance)
  • Support branch Commercial by attending customer meetings as and when required
  • Active engagement in ensuring retention of branch accounts

Processes, Risk, QHSE, CoC Compliance

  • Implement process to ensure customer selling rate and rate validities are provided and/or signed-off in the branch
  • Implement process to ensure all customer selling rate are properly maintained and available within the branch
  • Mitigate risks and liabilities by negotiating appropriate terms and conditions with vendors/business partners
  • Drive data quality improvement in CW1, ensure CW1 use and high data quality by all branch Airfreight persons
  • Perform assigned tasks to support company objectives and targets regarding quality, health, safety and environment as documented and follow all requirements as set out in the QHSE policy
  • Ensure that day to day activities embrace sustainability, health and safety, reducing the impact upon the environment, supporting the communities we work in and reducing incidents in the workplace
  • Ensure adherence to the Code of Conduct policy of the DSV Group at all times

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Business administration, economics, marketing or logistics preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership/management experience preferred
