The Opportunity

This position works out of our Uptown 1 office in the Core Diagnostics Division (CRDx). We’re empowering smarter medical and economic decision making to help transform the way people manage their health at all stages of life. Every day, more than 10 million tests are run on Abbott’s diagnostics instruments, providing lab results for millions of people.

Primary Function/ Primary Goals/ Objectives :

Responsible for demand & supply planning, inventory replenishment from source DC, tracking and following up of shipment from source to affiliate DC, inventory management on product expiry, slow moving & obsolescence. Ensure replenishment is at optimum to minimize freight cost. Coordinate with global planner on inventory availability.

Major Responsibilities :

• Review historical sales and establish a demand trend to build a baseline supply plan
• Drive monthly S&OP meeting with affiliates Comm’l team to determine any one-off event, seasonality and additional/reduction in demand due to market/customer penetration/exit to finalize the demand plan
• Review salable inventory onhand, stock in-transit, safety stock level and transit time to workout the supply requirement using ADDOne tools and raise the order to source DC timely
• Regular review of inventory DOH (Days On Hand) to minimize out of stock and backorder.
• Collaborate with global planner to expedite backorder from source Collaborate with Area Demand and Supply Planning Head and Commercial to align on inventory holding strategy, safety stock, order frequency, minimum shelf life, lot sequestering & shipping mode to maximize order fill rate and minimize inventory holding and freight cost
• Coordinate with source DC logistics, forwarder & custom broker to track shipment for timely departure and arrival. Coordinate with source DC on delay or discrepancy
• Regular review of inventory to reduce slow moving, obsolescence and distress inventory, report timely to Finance on any significant distress
• Responsible to initiate Change Request to Master Data team for all new material master creation, extension or revision in SAP Collaborate with affiliates logistics and 3PL on inventory accuracy at warehouse. Report timely to Finance on any significant variance
• Responsible for timely inventory destruction at the warehouse. Coordinate with Service team for disposition of idle intrument at the warehouse
• Collaborate with Global SME to maximize the use of planning tools ADDOne and provide feedback to Planning Head for improvement on planning process
• 1st contact point for Comm’l on inventory availability
• Publish/review Supply Chain metric in relation to inventory DOH, distress, order fill rate, backorder value as well as the performance of source DC. Automate reporting.
• Support Area on continuous improvement program to drive efficiency and
• Gross Margin Improvement initiatives related to Planning
• Regular review and provide feedback to managers to any process gaps on Planning playbook to keep it up to date against actual proces Ensure all workflow and processes adher to Abbott OEC policy and procedures

Bachelor degree holder from Supply Chain Management, Statistics, Analytics or other related discipline
