Senior Principal Test Development Engineer

Position Summary

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Principal Test Development Engineer is a recognized technical leader responsible for defining and driving advanced test solutions for PSG's next-generation power semiconductor portfolio, including Silicon (Si), Silicon Carbide (SiC), IGBT, and Gallium Nitride (GaN) technologies.

This role provides strategic and technical leadership across wafer sort, die-level test, package final test, and power module test development. The successful candidate will lead the development of robust, cost-effective, and scalable test solutions that support product qualification, manufacturing ramp, yield optimization, and long-term business growth.

The position requires deep expertise in power semiconductor testing, mixed-signal product development, statistical data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration with Design, Product Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Manufacturing teams across multiple global sites.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Support PSG test technology roadmap implementation for next-generation power devices and intelligent power solutions.
• Drive test architecture decisions from product concept through high-volume manufacturing.
• Establish best practices, methodologies, and reusable test platforms across PSG product families.
  
  

New Product Development (NPD)

• Lead test development activities for new products including:
• Power MOSFETs
• IGBTs
• SiC MOSFETs
• SiC Modules
• GaN Discrete Devices
• Intelligent Power Modules (IPM)
• Driver + Power MOSFET integrated solutions
• Mixed-signal power products
• Support product characterization, qualification, reliability stress testing, and production release.
• Partner with Design and Product Engineering teams to ensure Design-for-Test (DFT) and manufacturability objectives are achieved.
  
  

Test Development

• Architect and develop wafer sort and final test solutions.
• Design and implement:
• Test hardware
• Load boards
• Probe cards
• Interface boards
• Socket solutions
• Automated test software
• Define optimized multisite test strategies for cost reduction and throughput improvement.
• Develop test methodologies for high-voltage, high-current, fast-switching power semiconductor devices.
  
  

Mixed-Signal & Driver Products

• Lead test solution development for mixed-signal power products including:
• Gate drivers
• Driver + MOSFET combinations
• Intelligent power devices
• Protection and control functions
• Develop methodologies for analog, digital, timing, and power parametric testing.
• Collaborate with IC Design teams on production test coverage and fault screening strategies.
  
  

Data Analytics Skill

• Advanced statistical methods to drive data-based decisions.
  
  

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physics, or equivalent.
• Master's degree preferred.
  
  

Experience

• Minimum 10+ years of semiconductor test engineering experience.
• Minimum 5+ years of direct test development experience.
• Proven experience in power semiconductor products including Si, SiC, IGBT, and/or GaN technologies.
• Demonstrated technical leadership in NPI and production test deployment.
