Key Responsibilities:
1. Accounting and Compliance:
- Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB).
- Ensure compliance with Australian tax regulations, including GST and corporate tax requirements.
- Maintain accurate general ledger records and perform account reconciliations.
- Assist in preparing and submitting Business Activity Statements (BAS) and other relevant tax filings.
- Provide advisory support on Australian tax matters to clients.
- Collaborate directly with Australian clients to understand their accounting needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Build strong client relationships through consistent communication and exceptional service.
- Prepare periodic management reports, budgets, and forecasts for clients.
- Support audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes for efficiency.
- Leverage technology to improve accuracy and productivity in financial reporting and compliance.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on Australian accounting standards.
- Proficiency in using accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks.
- Strong understanding of Australian tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience in preparing BAS, payroll, and financial statements for Australian businesses.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- A commitment to providing high-quality service and meeting deadlines.
- Experience in a client-facing role is a plus.
