About The Job
We are looking for an Accounts Payable Assistant to support our finance team on a 4-month maternity cover contract. The role will focus on processing invoices, handling supplier payments, and ensuring accurate financial records.
Job Description
- Process and verify supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy of coding, approvals, and supporting documents
- Prepare and perform weekly or scheduled payment runs in line with company policies
- Handle supplier queries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Perform supplier statement reconciliations to ensure accounts are up to date
- Maintain proper documentation and filing of all accounts payable transactions for audit purposes
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date and flag any overdue items
- Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable
- Support the finance team with ad-hoc tasks such as data entry, reporting, and administrative support
- Basic understanding of accounting or accounts payable processes
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic accounting systems
- Good attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Prior experience in accounts payable or finance is an advantage
