Our Role
Located at our Malaysia Regional Office in Mutiara Damansara, Petaling Jaya and reporting to the Director of Logistics and Customer service. This position is responsible for Graymont’s Asia Pacific bulk and containerized shipping and warehousing activities and ensuring the safety and efficient management of all activities. Develop, procure, and manage all Import/Export activities across Asia Pacific with a key focus on the development and execution of safe, cost effective and scalable supply chains across the Graymont Asia Pacific network.
Monday to Friday, Office Hours and flexible and hybrid arrangements (work from office and home)
Key Focus Areas the Role Will Include:
As the Asia Pacific Shipping Manager, you will:
- Across APAC, design and establish bulk and containerized export and Import supply chains encompassing the procurement of services through delivering, monitoring and reporting on the performance of those supply chains.
- Across APAC, procure and manage third-party import/export warehouses and suppliers
- Within Malaysia, have ownership of all Export/ Import Permit requirements, including accountability, to ensure all permits are valid.
- Within Malaysia manage the Export / Import documentation process, including delivery through internal or external resources to ensure that the required documentation to ensure all export requirements are met.
- Across APAC, monitor the agreed inventory levels and operational expenses at all 3rd parties export/import warehouses, to ensure alignment with agreed budgets.
Ideally, the successful candidate will have the following attributes and qualifications:
- The successful candidate will need to demonstrate hands-on experience in container and bulk shipping supply chains, covering procurement and supplier management.
- Being a self-starter, and an innovative progressive thinker with the ability to work with minimal direct supervision is a key requirement for this role.
- The role will also require an experienced, results-oriented professional in managing and operating warehouses activities as well as Knowledge and exposure to logistics regulatory documents and systems.
- A degree or professional education in logistics, supply chain management and similar. A valid driver’s license and passport are required for this role.
