AL Maritime is a business unit within GM&T (Global Markets & Technologies). The activity is articulated around four main businesses: Global Helium, Global Rare Gases, Offshore Energies and Maritime Cryogenic Supply. It is a very international environment, managing multiple locations worldwide.
As part of AL Maritime, Cryogenic Tank Services (CTS) is a Malaysian entity which was acquired in 2015. CTS specializes in cryogenic tank and equipment rental for the offshore and maritime industries as well as in cryogenic transport of molecules, and provides a full range of repair and testing services.
CTS is looking to accelerate its expansion through key development segments. The Assistant Accountant position is within CTS, based in Kuala Lumpur.
How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
1. Month-End Close & General Ledger Management:
- Leading and driving month-end close (MEC) processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Preparing and posting general ledger journals, including accruals, prepayments, amortizations, and staff claims.
- Managing accounting for contracts (e.g., MFRS 15).
- Conducting monthly analysis of accounting movements, identifying and reporting material fluctuations.
- Overseeing the preparation and review of Balance Sheet schedules, ensuring proper reconciliation and explanation of balances.
2. Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Supporting the preparation of Flash and IRIS reports.
- Performing matching of sales and purchase orders for revenue/cost recognition.
- Reviewing and analyzing margins (e.g., liquid gas, transport) by business unit, identifying abnormalities.
- Ensuring accurate reporting of accrued revenue and costs.
3. Audit, Tax & Compliance:
- Actively participating in year-end audits, focusing on areas like personnel costs and tax.
- Drafting Audited Financial Statements (AFS) and managing the audit process to meet deadlines.
- Handling withholding tax and income tax installment processes.
- Supporting the Chief Accountant in tax computation and transfer pricing documentation.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies.
4. ERP System Coordination (Microsoft Dynamics AX):
- Serving as an AX Coordinator, validating item codes and financial dimensions for purchase orders.
- Maintaining AX codes and liaising with consultants on system issues and enhancements.
- Providing guidance and support to AX users.
- Documenting AX-related issues and solutions for future reference.
5. Company Secretarial Support:
- Assisting with company secretarial matters, including changes to the Board of Directors, authorized signatories, and coordination for board meetings.
- Coordinating e-signatory processes for corporate documents.
Are you a MATCH?
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field is required. A professional qualification like ACCA or similar is a plus.
Experience:
- Proven experience in general ledger management and month-end close processes.
- Experience in working with Microsoft Dynamics AX is a big advantage.
- Audit and/or Shared Service experience is another plus.
- With at lease 2 years working experiences.
Knowledge Specific to the Position:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in financial analysis and reconciliation.
- Familiarity with tax regulations and audit processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in an international environment.
