Responsibilities

  • Providing technical and managerial guidance and direction to the Inspector of Works (IOWs).
  • Coordinating with site personnel to ensure all construction activities align with project drawings and specifications, meeting the required quality standards.
  • Assisting the Resident Engineer in monitoring project progress, identifying potential delays, and recommending mitigation measures.
  • Reviewing and ensuring compliance with Quality Assurance Plans and HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment) Manuals prepared by the Contractor.
  • Collaborating with the Resident Engineer to evaluate method statements, proposed materials, shop drawings, and traffic management plans submitted by the Contractor for site operations.
  • Responding to technical inquiries from the Contractor and coordinating with design engineers for any required design changes.
  • Assisting the Resident Engineer in reviewing and maintaining various project reports, including Site Diaries, Monthly Progress Reports, QAQC (Quality Assurance Quality Control) Reports, HSSE Reports, Routine Maintenance Reports, Traffic Management Safety Reports, and Incident Reports.
  • Inform the Assistant Resident Engineer should the Contractor fail to comply with the Specifications and Construction Drawings and adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Verifying the Joint Measurement Sheet(s) for works completed by the Contractor for their interim claims.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Senior Resident Engineer and Resident Engineer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical/mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of proven working experience in construction site supervision, ideally in highway and bridge projects.
  • Experience in utility relocation works and possessing QSHE certification from an accredited body(s) would be an added value.
  • Registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia.
  • Solid understanding of electrical/ mechanical engineering principles, construction methods, and quality assurance processes.
  • Knowledge of Malaysian construction regulations and safety standards.
