As a team member of Siemens Energy {“SE”} Asia Pacific Tax Services Centre (ATC) in Malaysia, you will be assigned with a set of global tax support activities which will tap into your level of tax competencies and abilities. To thrive in a dynamic and agile working environment, you are prepared to embrace changes in your scope of work from time to time. In the course of your work, you collaborate closely with the global tax community, accounting and controlling team and business community. You also work with the external tax consultants and liaise with the local tax authorities as and when required. In your daily engagement with the respective collaborators, you identify new opportunity to which ATC can extend further support which will achieve greater efficiency in the organization.

How You’ll Make An Impact

Siemens Energy {“SE”} Asia Pacific Tax Services Centre (ATC) in Malaysia is a tax hub set to support the global tax functions within Siemens Energy Group. The global tax function includes both the headquarter located in Germany who assumes the tax governance role and the local tax teams located across the world who are entrusted with the responsibilities to manage the direct and indirect tax compliance works, provision of tax advisory, etc in the respective countries. The role will support both global and local tax functions, as and when the need arises, subject to the availability of the competency and abilities required.

Currently, ATC’s core support includes the handling of direct and indirect tax compliance work (e.g. corporate income tax, withholding tax, goods and services tax, fringe benefit tax, etc) and preparation of local transfer pricing documentation for various countries in ASEAN Pacific region. In the coming months, ATC will expand its support to provide cross-border project tax advisory in relation to SE’s inbound projects in ASEAN Pacific region, global tax reporting, etc. To further this cause, this new hire will be assigned with the following main responsibilities:

• Liaison with internal customers (global tax functions) to coordinate the knowledge transfer session for the new tax supports to be provided by ATC.
• Provision of cross border tax advisory support to overseas SE entities for its outbound projects into ASEAN Pacific Region.
• Identify and recommend improvements to tax processes and tax controls
• From time to time, you will also extend your support to adhoc assignments (e.g. support on tax audit and tax projects) and support other team members in ATC during their absence.
  
  
  

What You Bring

• A recognized degree or equivalent in Accounting/Finance/Tax field
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in international tax advisory or similar role (e.g. cross border project tax advisory, advisory on withholding taxes, value-added taxes or transfer pricing).
• Strong knowledge of international tax laws and regulations, particularly in ASEAN Pacific Countries. Working experience in the direct/indirect tax compliance work for ASEAN Pacific countries are an added advantage.
• Good English language proficiency, both verbal and written
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively engage with customers and partners.
• Strong numerical and data analytical skills with high level of accuracy
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
